Epic Fail: Reserching Iron working, and then reailizing its 1576 A.D.

I can still remember the first time I tried to go to space race victory.
The AI won a cultural victory 3 turns before the shuttle arrived to Alpha Centauri.
I was never so angry in my life.

Playing a game for a week, feeling proud at the first Noble game that looks like you're going to win. Win by Domination, only to find out that you were playing and dominating on Warlord all this time.

LOL.

Also, does anyone find that sulieman is always in the top 3 civs? ALWAYS.

Moving my SOD through enemy territory and accidentically moving all my musketeers one step too much, leaving all my trebuches to be slaughtered by the enemy.

Yes, interface is often a problem...
They should really have an undo function for moves... reloading from last autosave is too painful.

Not necessarily my biggest failure, but still a pretty heavy facepalm occurred when I was playing Rhye's and Fall of Civilization today. I was playing as Spain and changed to Theocracy (and some other civics) on my starting turn so that I would be prepared for the inevitable spread of Christianity to my lands. It's 1500 AD now and still zero religion in my cities, what the heck? Suddenly, it dawns on me that Theocracy blocks out religions even when I have no state religion :wallbash:. Now I feel that I have to restart that game.

I had something very similar happen in y current game where I was running OR with no state religion. That only took me 10 turns to figure out.

I had teched military tradition very early, and in preparation I built a big force of elephants and used a great merchant to make the gold upgrade all of them. Then I realized I didn't have horses, and no one would trade them to me.

I bring my stack of 80 modern armor to attack a more powerful Mansa, only to realize that I accidentally gifted him all the units.

I'v noticed that these kind of mistakes tends to happen when you've played for a long time and are getting tired.

Like when you mass upgrade all your carefully husbanded CR units to Mobile Sams, or promote your Machine Guns to Shock.

Always watch vicroty screen and nukes ready!!! I have learned the lesson.....

When I see that an AI is 80 turns to cultural victory I make an invasion / blitz plan to nuke and raze 2-3 cultural cities....
