BirdNES: 1500 AD: A New World

Then I hope your fleet gets hit by a typhoon in the Indian Ocean abaddon ;)

I've been in Scotland for about a week and just got back. Thought I said something about it somewhere but apparently I wasn't. Anyway, as we all know, Scotland is completely cut off from the civilized world, and so I didn't have internet access.

Anyway, the Pope should be back on track in a week or two. I've got summer term finals and then getting back to America, and then things will run more smoothly.

Of course, if you'd all prefer, I can step aside if someone else wants to take it up. I realize I've been remiss and inconsistent for a couple weeks now. Its up to you guys.

I don't think the Holy See could be trusted to anyone else.

I can think of no better Pontiff than you.

Besides, if you step down, we'd get someone like Extream_Rockstar (lolzrofl) in charge again. That was terrible.

Seriously LB, as a muslim, you have been 120% the best pope so far.

I carried Swiss for a few updates, I have no trouble carrying you until you are settled again. Good Popes are hard to find and you have been an excellent one. :hatsoff:

Update ETA?

I am just about through 1565. The first year is the most convoluted and difficult. 1566 should be a quickie that finishes off many of your orders and sets up a pivotal 1567 that is quite action oriented. After that, it will be mostly fill in and catch up on what I have neglected. I will be posting at least two maps and probably three. The first will show things at the end of 1565, the second at the end of 1566 and then a final for 1569.

I think that you and the other players will enjoy the step-by-step transition from 1564 to 1569. The maps will show you just how it all unfolds over the five years. If I can get another hour or two in tonight and get through 1566, I will spend tomorrow on 1567 and wind things up on Wednesday (probably Thursday for the posting). That is my best guess for now.

A lot depends upon how detailed I get in writing the wars and how many character oriented stories I include. I am sorry that I am so slow at this. Your patience is appreciated. :)

EDIT: I probably ought to ask which parts of the updates are your favorites?

Narratives
Character driven vingnettes (short pieces with named people telling their story)
Battle descriptions
The Verners and Suon Sok
Something else

I like this 3-map thing. I sort of wish Das had one to show the extent of the Lith Empire, so it will be good to see now.

Since I update the map as I write, it is very easy to do. I just rename and save. Unless the update has only minimal changes, I don't see why it won't continue.

My favorite parts are battle descriptions. I like reading about battles.

Character perspectives are also intreasting.

I like the stats best.. but i think thats just me :mischief:

My favourite bits are the Verner bits. I like the Verners...I need to lure them to Vienna and Pest, permanently...

I like the part of the updates where I crush my enemies, drive them before me like cattle, and hear the lamentations of their women.

it's actually from Conan silver

That may be, but that still means Dux was quoting from someone else and not paraphrasing silver's quote. Besides, Dux's quote says he wants to hear women screaming and crying (amongst all that other stuff). Silver's quote says he wants to embrace said women (once again, amongst all that other stuff.) Besides, the important thing here is to remember that both Dux and Silver are sick weirdo's ;).

IDK. Dux still needs to prove he is in silver's general vicinity, and thats tough to accomplish. and then theres Amon Savag...

Anyways, I've learned that a conscience is a bad thing in NESing.

AND ACUTALLY ITS DOUBLE CITED!

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women!" - Genghis Khan and Conan the Barbarian (searched it on google)
