Blackened Skies

OOC: Christos, all of this is cool, but I have a bit of constructive criticism (feel free to ignore it, it's not too important). First, Adolfus Adimaro is a strange name both for a Prussian and a Russian. Also, "Stalin" is actually a nickname that's designed to sound like a last name. Red revolutionaries tended to do that in order to substitute their real last names and not sound like bandits at the same time ("Lenin," for example, was such kind of a nickname, meaning "Son of Lena [female name]"). But soldiers nicknaming their general "Stalin" sounds rather strange, similar to nicknaming somebody "Steelson" in English.

OOC: To be honest, I found the name in a German Names Generator. I myself do not know much German names (except for famous people like Hindenburg). About Stalin, you might be right. I will delete this part. I just thought it funny to have someone named Stalin being important in Imperial Russia, without being the actual Joseph Stalin. I also changed the name.

The United States protests the Sublime Portes' invasion and occupation of Bulgaria as illegal acts and commends all the parties defending bonny little Bulgaria's independence. However, the United States is firmly of the view that any actions taken against the Sublime Porte should be balanced, moderate and should absolutely not threaten:

(1) The existence and present borders of the Turkish state,
(2) Free transit of the Dardanelles, and
(3) The political stance of the Turkish state.

Items (1) and (2) being inextricably linked to (3).

Consequently, the United States will be sending ships to Constantinople, with the express purpose of ensuring that the parties involved do not precipitate some new Red Revolution. The United States, though it pains us, calls on the United Kingdom to do the same in the interests of peace.

Without diminishing the significant of the above action, the United States also calls on a conference of powers being Italy, the United Kingdom, Russia, the Sublime Porte and the United States to convene to discuss a peaceful resolution of what has so far been a phony war.

Romania demands that, in case such a conference is held, Grecce, Jugoslawia and Romania also join this conference. We may not be major powers but a conference about a whole regions fate should not be held without giving the nations of this regions a chance to participate.

The United Kingdom will answer the call of the United States and will send a military contingent to the area as well. We will work with the USA and local powers, ensure the stability of the region.

The United Kingdom will attend the conference suggested by the USA.

The United Kingdom thanks the USA for its unexpected wisdom.

The Sublime State would be willing to attend such a conference.

While we applaud the efforts being made to diplomatically resolve the situation, the omission of many of the powers involved - or other neighbours who would inherently be affected by negotiations with Turkey - seems an odd choice. Where is the Bulgarian government? What of Turkey's other neighbours - Greece is at war with them currently, and the Iranian government - and no doubt that of the Yemenis, as well - would certainly be interested in developments across our borders.

Again, we consider the current efforts to resolve the situation diplomatically superior to a military engagement between any of the involved powers, but the Iranian government believes it would be even more productive to include the other powers currently engaged in war with Turkey, as well as the two non-combatant states bordering it.

Also I'm probably going to be a lot slower to respond to stuff from here on out, especially this week and next. Work and exams.

OCC: according to update, the entirety of the high governmental peoples were killed while the royals were imprisoned, no?

OCC: according to update, the entirety of the high governmental peoples were killed while the royals were imprisoned, no?

OOC: yes; those that were not summarily executed have fled. The royals are in Turkish custody. The remainder of the Bulgarian government is in such a state of disarray it effectively does not exist anymore.

edit- the "exile government" in the stats consists of only those ambassadors that were outside the country and a few token lower ministers that managed to escape just in the nick of time. They are not politicians and lack any true power or influence. They're mostly important for what they represent, i.e. the government that Turkey exhaustively annihilated.

Well, this still places a good topic up for the peace conference (if, of course, it happens in first place..): if Bulgaria is indeed liberated, who will rule it's inner workings? It seems most of its intellectual elite that is capable of that is either dead or fleeing.

Romania could offer to secure Bulgaria until a new goverment, army and police have been established.
We would send several division, as peacekeepers and helpers in rebuilding this nation.

Russia will not attend the conference unless Turkey first agrees that it's occupation of Bulgaria will end. If Turkey accepts this, then Russia shall attend the conference and be willing to negotiate on the terms of peace.

Well..I'm not entirely sure, but isn't the idea of the conference to end the occupation in first place? What more would you want to discuss further?

An assurance that Turkey will not try to negotiate a continuation of Bulgaria's occupation and that it has accepted that Bulgaria should not be under Turkish occupation.

I think Turkey agreeing to end its illegal occupation of Bulgaria is a precondition of the conference.

The Sublime State will be willing to negotiate a withdrawal from Bulgaria and a settlement regarding Bulgaria's status. We wish to have the United Kingdom and United States oversee this negotiation.
