Blackened Skies

To: The UK, Australia
We wish to negotiate the status of the east indies with you. RSVP at your earliest conenience for a meeting in the Netherlands?

From UK
To Netherlands

Sure.
(PM us?)

France unconditionally condemns the Turkish invasion of Bulgaria and demands their immediate withdrawal. If they do not, there will be severe consequences.

However, we also denounce the disarmament program put forward by the Kingdom of Italy. This is a shameless attempt to take advantage of an international crisis to expand their own power and weaken a rival. What does Turkey's tariff regime have to do with this?

Elections in the Netherlands are scheduled for next year, as always, any party may be involved in the elective process.

France is exhilarated to learn that the Republic of the Netherlands will allow socialist parties to participate. We trust them to honor their pledge here and hold free and fair elections.

The UK will be increasing mobilization by 10% so that our parades can be grander!

We condemn the militarization of the United Kingdom. Their slow build up to war is not unnoticed. You will not be allowed to spread English tyranny to the continent.

To : The world, esspecially Turkey
From: Romania

We can not accept this behavior, eventhough we are smaller than Turkey, we now give an ultimatum to the turkish "goverment" to remove all of their forces from Bulgaria and pay reperations for all the damage they did and people they killed.
Turkey massacred bulgarian officers, something going against everything even the most corrupt nations see as law.
Like we already said, our Army and Air force are currently mobilicing to 100 % Readiness and fortify our border against Turkey.
Our ultimatum must be answerd within 48 (real world) hours or Romania declares war on Turkey.

To: Italy, Russia

Romania will cooperate with Italy in putting down Turkey. We hope that the italian military will be able to use all its might against the maniacs in Anatolia.
Romania also ask Russia again for acsess to Baltic ports, since trading through the Bosphorus seems impossible.
We also ask for russian assistance in defending our nation and eventually liberating Bulgaria.

To: The World
From: The Sublime State of Turkey

Turkey is amused by the reaction of many of the world powers. Bulgarian raiders attack Turkey and the world is silent. Now that Turkey has ended this threat everyone speaks! Disarm! Withdraw!

Has Turkey threatened Romania? No, we asked that Romania pay more to ship more goods through the Dardanelles. No shipping has been blockaded or stopped.

Has Turkey threatened Italy or Greece? No, but should Italy reduce its Army and Navy to the levels demanded of us along with its tariffs then we shall reduce our forces. Greece has not raided us, nor has Russia, we have no quarrel with them.

As for our occupation policy, we are amazed that so many humanitarian states are concerned about the Bulgar's. We must ask their colonial subjects in Poland, Central Asia Somalia and Libya about their kind treatment.

OOC: This diplo is really amazing. I think we're creating a really vibrant world!

Probably annexing their entire country over a single raid is a bit of a disappropriate vengeance, no? You could have just bullied them out to give you cash or concede some disputed teerritories.

Turkey is a threat to everybody around them.
Romania will not accept the occupation of Bulgaria and our army will prepare for everything.
And even if we get no support from Russia or Italy in time, we will make sure to decimate you army to the point were it becomes meanigless.
We also offer asylum to every bulgarian fleeing from the turkish babarians and we offer a gun to every bulgarian man willing to fight with us.

From: Russia
To: Turkey

If Turkey does not withdraw all of it's forces from Bulgaria and come to the negotiating table over the rest of the terms, Russia will be forced to declare war.

OOC: Nuke, is it safe to assume that an analog of Geneva Convention exists in this timeline and is more or less similar to the IRL convention document? If yes, did Turkey sign it? (In general, who are the notable non-signees?)

The Persian Empire would like to engage with the world economically. In particular, though we will not be offering our oil or gas reserves, we are quite rich in a variety of natural resources in high demand or rare availability in much of the world - particularly many different metals. Our main productions include:

Iron
Bauxite
Aluminium
Zinc
Lead
Copper
Chromium
Manganese
Sulfur
Coal

We would be thrilled to enter discussions with interested parties for either export and/or development of portions of these resources, and welcome those parties to approach us directly.

OOC: Nah, no Geneva convention in this TL. Most wars can get pretty nasty and conduct is generally worked out on title for tat or agreement between two powers.

We feel as though Turkey has consistently proven itself as a menace to peace within the entire Mediterranean region, and as a result we must demand they cut back on their forces. Such a cut back will permanently reduce, if not eliminate Turkey's consistent record of aggression.

The government of the United Kingdom encourages private enterprise within the Kingdom to consider the opportunities offered by potential Persian concessions.

France decries Persia's decision to open itself up to exploitation and colonialism by trafficking with the arch imperialist power of human history.

France feels that Italy's proposal only precludes the possibility of Turkish withdrawal by imposing unacceptable demands. If they contented themselves with just the first and second articles, we would support them. As it is we would be surprised if Turkey accepted being voluntarily crippled.

We have no intentions of being a colony of Britain or anyone else, thank you.

Nor is that offer open only to Britain - I fail to see where we mentioned any particular nation or bloc as being given preferential treatment or blocked from participating.

The road to capitalist oppression is paved with delusions of grandeur. Persia would be better off nationalizing those industries and simply seeking foreign funding and expertise in developing them.

You act as though our translations of Western research papers are not a pursuit of foreign expertise in their own right. We would appreciate if the French would try to engage with our nation before making baseless assumptions about what we will and will not engage in.
