And if you have, is it a good movie?

I saw an ad for it, and it looks really good.

meh, it's alright. Nothing spectacular though.

Typical sports movie, I suppose.

It certainly didn't deserve a best picture nomination. Nothing good really stood out about it. If you're looking for a movie about sports and racism from 2009, you'd probably be better off checking out Invictus. If you're set on The Blind Side, there are worse things you could watch I suppose.

I never said that. The reason why it got the nomination is because it was the first, and probably the only time that Sandra Bullock gave a serious performance. The other nominees were young (or past winners), and definitely had many more nominations ahead of them. Bullock definitely deserved the wink, but the movie on the whole was not that great.

Nah. Just my general assessment of the film. I was around a lot of people who really loved it, so that could have been a contributor to my disappointment.

I thought it was a pretty good film, and Bullock was surprisingly good in it, as was that kid who played the lead. Well worth your time to watch, but it certainly isn't great.

I thought it was a really good film as well - there was a certain feel good factor to it, and I thought that outdid some of the film's less sophisticated touches to 'serious issues' (racism, etc)

I heard the Michael Oher was kind of pissed about the way they portrayed him.

He certainly came across as borderline-******** and very weak-minded in places. Don't know enough about Oher to determine if it's an accurate depiction or not.

IMDB said:
Oher was an experienced football player when he enrolled at Briarcrest. He developed into a premier left tackle, and was heavily recruited by top schools in the Southeastern Conference. Oher was less than pleased by the movie's depiction of him as passive, unskilled big guy who was only barely acquainted with football.

Interestingly, he doesn't seem too upset by the portrayal of his academic performance.

He was a star football player who was not homeless, he living with the coach of the team. He just so happend to be adopted by one of Ole Miss's biggest boosters. A good family didn't turn him into a star like in the movie, he already was one. What the NCAA officer accuses the family of is exactly what happened in real life.
