The ripper strikes again! :D

As I have wrapped up the Kohan 2 conversion series, I've found myself a new entertainment - Blitzkrieg game series. BTW, I want to very much recommend everyone to try it out, it is a very realistic WW2 (and post-WW2, considering lots of expansions it got) RTS. The game has LOTS of tank and plane units (it uses sprites for scenery and infantry, so no cigar here), and I will be converting some - mainly the ones that weren't posted on CFC before. No use placing requests here, though - there are too many units to make, I could easily get swamped. I will work at my own pace, and post small unit packs along the way.

The first pack contains 4 units, here they are:

Chieftain uses panzer anims, all the rest use tank anims. All four have buttons included. Blitzkrieg is a relatively old game, so the models are low-poly by Civ 4 standards (lower polycount than vanilla units), and they might as well have somewhat simplistic textures (although, as you can see, all are 256x256 or at least 256x128). They don't have civcolor, gloss or damage states, so if anyone wishes to add those, you're welcome.

Get them here: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=12408

maybe low poly, but the textures really make up or it...looks really GOOD!!!! :goodjob:

Nice ones, thanks, looking forward to the other units (od they have personal carriers in there ?) :)

Artillery? Did someone say artillery? Let 'em cooooooooome!!!! ;)

Nice tanks, WH! A bit low poly, but usable.
I just wonder what's with the gun barrel of the Patton, it's misalligned, no?
Also, some other unit's could be wrong (I checked them only in Nifscope though, so not 100% sure)

Thanks again!

They are all misaligned when checked in nifskope, but when animated (and that's the only way you'll see them in game), everything comes to its place. The screens for all tanks except Patton were taken with animations applied in Nifskope. I forgot to do this for M48, thus you see the "misaligned" barrel. It's fine in game.

And yeah, there's a whole bunch of artillery. Can't promise you you'll see any soon, though.

Looks nice, not bad for older units.
Out of curiosity, are there any plans for converting some space ships?

No. :D

I don't know any games that I could convert suitable models from with relative ease, and furthermore TR mod doesn't need any. So you can safely bet I won't convert any spacefaring stuff anytime soon.

Thanks, just wondering. How would one go about seeing if it is possible to convert a model from a different game, or does the format have to be nif initiatly?

Not necessarily. For example, Blitzkrieg here uses another model format.

Actually, every game is different in that aspect, even if it has .nif models (because there are vastly different versions of .nif files, and each game uses a different array of auxilliary data). The process of conversion is unique each time, and converting successfully is like solving a puzzle. So there is no one short answer to this.

Looks cool, do they have any flame-thrower tanks in Blitzkrieg? Just interested as have always liked idea of the Churchill Crocodile and other flame-throwing tanks... Perhaps have bonus versus infantry units, but a negative modifier against other tanks that aren't flamethrowers... Just an idea for the use of a great unit.

Yeah they do, but making a flamethrower attack animation would be disproportionally hard for Civ 4 - this wouldn't be a ready to use unit even if I made one, everyone willing to use it would have to install new effects and stuff.

They have almost anything that was used in WW2 in Blitzkrieg, at least for the greater powers (US, UK, USSR, Germany). Also a good deal of stuff used in Korean war.

Someone made several infantry flamethrowers. Also, someone made Churchill tank. Basically, all one has to do is to give that tank a flame attack now - but that doesn't have anything to do with conversion from Blitzkrieg, and as such, me.
