Boff-02 Behaving Badly

Ok, so Corneh having a bit of trouble with AK01, which we're helping him through, but in the mean time, in the interest of keeping us going here, we'll skip him for this turn.

Thanks s.ilver ill get things going from now on! :)

OK, well here is my general plan:

Settle teal dot (1N of marble) and start a monument right away (I wont whip anything here until we get the fishies hooked up unless you all agree we should whip the monument after it reaches size 2) Then if fishing is researched I'll start a warrior then WB next.

My techs will probably go wheel -> pottery -> masonry -> fishing -> priesthood -> writing (not that I'll get that far, but it's what is in my head)

Once the farm on the FP finishes I'll road the copper then build a cottage 1S of the copper. By this time masonry should be finished so I'll build the quarry and we can decide how soon we want to connect it to the capitol (either by a road or by researching sailing before priesthood)

The capitol will build another warrior until it grows then switch to a worker, then finish warrior and then...? Another settler? Axe?

Any thoughts? I wont play until tonight so I'll check pretty regularly.

That sounds solid. Might want to reconsider the cottage south of the copper though. Depending on how much time we have until masonry, you might want to run the worker up immediately to road the marble and get it going.

I'm not sure what the food surplus in the capital is, so this is entirely rambling. I am fairly skeptical about early game cottages nowadays though...

Ah you're right, I'll have to see how many turns it will take for masonry to be researched and the worker to get to the marble.

Perhaps fishing before wheel - shouldn't take long. Then whip monument and send overfow into work boat. Sooner monument, sooner fish, regrowing shouldnt be that big of a problem.
The city will probably not have 2 improved tiles to work at that time anyway, so better make other use of that citizen :whipped:

Perhaps start Barracks instead of warrior while waiting for growth in the capital.
I wouldnt build any new wariors now - we almost have copper hoocked up, and there will be no barbs attacking within boarders till there are 4 cities on the island (2x #of Civs... Well the Random Uprising is a exception here, but then warriors won't help much anyway ;)) Also have two scouts to fogbust.
Barracks will come in handy for Axes, once cooper is ready.

wheel finishes in 3, so we can wait for it to finish, or switch to fishing, but then the worker will need to mine a hill or build another farm on the other FP until the settler is done and can go build the quarry once masonry is finished.

I think that since we can't use the fish tech until after the monument when we need the WB it can wait a little. That gives us enough time to get wheel and masonry.

yeah wheel and masonry are critical for getting that marble going. Wheel first as you said, since it's what's needed first. Fishing can wait.

Btw Refar, I saw one of your comments in the strat forum...

I think the project failed due to lack of Interest/Participants to cover all traits (I am not really sure, as i was one of those not-interested people and not really paid attention).

You are pure gold mate.:D

Cheers!

Btw be sure to rename that scout 'Ranger Smith' if you get the chance. That and you can do your best pik a nik basket impression when no one is around if you want to.

As seen in the mao party screen, seems there's a warrior setup for worker snatching. Grab said worker if you get a chance.

Cheers!

I've never re-named a charactor, how do I do that? And don't worry, Rosie's worker will come moseyin' close soon :):):)

And Refar your captions are freaking hilarious, I probably can't beat not being invited to the party, but I'll try.

I'm enjoying the read so I'll give back -- simply click on the active unit's name in the lower left of the screen and you'll be able to edit it.

BTW a small Micro advice from me i see aachen is building a settler. as were imperialistic we get double the hamers when building a settler. aachen is currently working a floodplains for 3 food and 1 commerce but could also be working the forest hill for 2 hamers and 1 food as the hamers get doubled and not the food it would add 2 more hamers per turn towards the settler

Yep it could. I kept the FP because it gives some commerce. (working 2:hammers: tile we win 1 turn on settler but loose 1 turn on tech - but it might have changed since i checked it the last time.)
