Boff-02 Behaving Badly

keep in mind that rice is out of the fat cross... that means rosie never even got to bs by the time fudd called wabbit season.

I understand now why he was so quiet, stupid AI was chain building 5 workboats. Town isn;t even on a hill...

Telling you beeline to globe then fire away! That town is a one city drafing machine.

Btw hard as hell to make these turns a fun read

You know if we can resist chopping anything in Washington, that would make a really sick Globe/National park...

Cheers!

Looks good Liq. Hilarious report as always.

One question. Were we planning on doing an Oracle run? If so... we kinda need to research Priesthood first...

EDIT: And I guess we take CoL from it for our UB, so we can REX? :p

need writing and priesthood for code.. then again Liq wakes up and realizes to even build oracle we need priesthood... not just for code hah

Well ok no problem, not much time spent on writing hahahahahaha erm ok quite of time spent on writing actually... rofl. slams forehead haha.

It's so hard to see though all this :smoke: cough cough

Cheers!
-StupidLiq;)

lol. Not a huge problem. Writing has one turn left, so I'll finish it.

Question is, do we want Poly -> Priest or Med -> Priest? Need Poly for Lit obviously (and that line of wonders is sped by marble). OTOH, Med is cheaper and needed for the Liberalism race later.

I'll play the turns in a bit.

I usually choose choose Poly - because it unlocks literature, parthenon (with aestetics). Then backfill Meditation on some point. But i dont think it makes a huge difference...

Yea I usually go for poly as well because lit is much closer, we'll have time for med later.

The read wasn't bad Liq, I like the yellowstone group!

1725BC (91):

Preflight check. Writing is done in 1 turn, as it has 5 beakers left to go, so might as well let it finish.

Everything looks in order. We can trade 1 food for 1 commerce at the capital. We are at the happy cap and still growing, although slowly, so I do that trade for the extra beaker. Growth in 38.

1700BC (92):

Writing is in, so dial up Poly. 9 turns...

Aachen is done the Granary. I dial up another axe. Gonna wait till the mine finishes to start the settler, and we need another escort anyways. Depending on what Rosie does, axes may be needed for a take down.

1675BC (93):

Boat is done in Prague and it's back on the granary, so leave it as granaries are always useful.

Yogi and Boo Boo head north.

We are meanwhile done the mine at Aachen, so switch to it.

1650BC (94):

Rosie finishes another archer this turn. Ok, well hopefully he leaves the city.

Prague's border pop gets us obvious fish to be netted, and worked for growth in 9 turns.

The workers are done the mine, so I send them to pre-chop the riverside trees.

1625BC (95):

Nada.

1600BC (96):

The Axe is done in Aachen and a settler takes only 7 turns, so start one up.

1575BC (97):

Yogi and Boo Boo meet up with Ranger Smith this turn, who hasn't moved since I started.

1550BC (98):

Nada.

1525BC (99):

The mine in Prague is done this turn, so the granary will finish next turn. And so will Poly.

1500BC (100):

We discover Poly and set research for an obvious priesthood. In 5! turns.

Ok, so busy turn.

set2judstone.jpg

Judaism FIADL and Stonehenge BIAFL.

So the Jellystone crew are at Washington's gates, but clearly we won't be doing much to it for a while. Going to send Elmer Fudd to pillage the cottage :p.

The granary is done in Prague, dialing up a barracks until the city grows and we can build a worker faster.

1475BC (101):

Ack, Rosie finished ANOTHER archer, and sent one out after Fudd. Running into the forest.

Laying down a cottage at Prague.

1450BC (102):

So four archers now in Washington, 2 with combat, 1 with hills, and 1 with CG.

1425BC (103):

Aachen settler is done, heading for green dot where the scout is. We are STILL 2 turns from Priesthood, so dial up an axe.

We grew in Prague, so dial up a 9 turn worker.

1400BC (104):

Nasty barbs appear from the west as expected.

set2barbwarrior.jpg

I am forced to call back one axe.

There is little point in loitering in Rosie's lands, so I get a CEASEFIRE for now. Note a ceasefire and not a Peace Treaty. This will allow me to punk another Rosie worker if the opportunity presents itself, because the ceasefire is apparently not bound by the 10 turn peace treaty (we are hoping he sends another worker to the rice).

set2ceasefire.jpg

1375BC (105):

Priesthood comes in and we swap to the Oracle in Aachen. 9 turns, lol. Eat a prechopped forest. 6 turns. Going to eat one more of them in 2 turns.

set2chophammers.jpg

Settle Vienna on Green Dot. Monument first. Costs up to 6gpt, so dialing down science. I also set up sailing, as it is cheap, and we need the lighthouses and coastal routes.

The game randomly CRASHES on me. Luckily, there is an autosave from last turn, and we have random seed off (not that we did anything requiring an RNG), so load up and play back to this point.

1350BC (106):

Rosie has 2 archers on the move. If they near the border in flat land, I'll punk them with the axes.

1325BC (107):

Eat another forest in Aachen. Oracle in 2.

1300BC (108):

No sign at all of the worker... Don't see a Rosie settler either.

1275BC (109):

Wow, the tech popup appears before our wonder popup.

set2freetech.jpg

set2oracle.jpg

And... Prague is the home of Confusion!

set2confusion.jpg

Sending the missionary to Vienna for the faster border pop. Realize afterwards that this MIGHT be :smoke:, as Aachen could use the extra happy. Can still send the missionary back down.

Rosie is also not too bright.

set2anotherworker.jpg

We get another worker and redeclare on Rosie :p.

I take Confusion as the state religion for the extra happy. One turn of Anarchy.

1250BC (110):

We kill the barb warrior who was loitering to the west.

Yeah, ok so building a worker is Prague was probably :smoke: as we just stole another one from Rosie. The guy is hilarious, he probably spent the first 50 turns building workboats or something :p.

Refar called the rice worker . Just serious smoke.

On an aside, FDR pissed looks a lot less smug than he normally is.

Ok refar is next, those courthouses are going to make settling this continent trivial.
Reposting the dot map so we do not have to hunt it down...

boffo2dotmapminmax.jpg

Most towns make sense...
grey dot over blackdot of course and well light green dot just south of
FDR is one off the coast... can move it one east as a lot of hills for it either way.

Guess we should plan which marble wonders to get..hehe

I assume we want to force a great priest for a shine after academy?

Oh and silver... more workers is fine hehe.

Cheers!

Refar called the rice worker . Just serious smoke.
It had to pop up - the AI is increadible dumb about that.

I was hoping i would be up a bit later... I can't play untill monday evening (Europe Time) so perhaps a Skip would be a good idea.

ok then KS is up as corneh is having issues with the patch.

hmm need a cut and paste.... ahh there we go..

Morning people :-P I got it, I'll play tonight and post tonight or tomorrow morning so Refar can play soon after. Game is going to get interesting need to keep it movin'! Do we have a plan per se?

And congrats on getting us the oracle!

Looking like a bit of rex as we stall rosie. Dump a few more axes into his lands, grab a few more workers etc

New city wise prolly best keep the towns without a courthouse to two maximum as we aren;t in a dire rush. Fill order... um that town spot to the south is really kind of nice.

The north needs a lot of worker love and the west really doesn;t look too terribly attractive haha.

Guess town order would be orange south, then grey east. By then we should have an economy to deal with far east and far north.

Wonder wise, the great lighthouse would be really sweet as only our capital isn;t coastal.

Cheers!

Looking like a bit of rex as we stall rosie. Dump a few more axes into his lands, grab a few more workers etc
While doing this... The next grabed could road backwards from rosie to us, on his way "home"... Will make future operations more convinient...

Well this report is going to be terrribly boring, I don't even have a screen shot worth displaying.

1225BC - The worker we just got from rosie was told to road.

1200BC - Axeman finishes in Aachen so I send him up towards vienna on his way to rosie. I start building a settler in Aachen to go to the Orange spot.

1175 - Some more road building connecting us to rosie and all three of our current cities.

1150 - Missionary gets to Aachen where he successfully spreads confucionism...Yay!

1125 - Path ro rosie from Prague finishes so I send him back.

1100 - Sailing comes in so I switch to Mono. I was trying to decide between asthetics and math and mono, but both asth and math were 30 turns away and mono will be beneficial to build missionaries to spread to our cities when we starrt rexin.

1075 - Rosie's archer doesn't know what to do, so I wait fortified.

1050 - Started a worker roading towards the orange dot so it gets connected immediately.

1025 - Settler finishes so I send it towards orange dot. Started a temple at Aachen. Rosies archer slips past and is now on the outskirts of prague! How it happened I have no idea, so I panicked a little. I tried attacking with Boo Boo and then he died :(

It was stupid to attack but I a panicked and lesson learned. Started moving axemen from vienna to assist, it will take 3 turns to arrive. Then after I calm down I see I could just have moved Boo Boo, Elmer Fudd and Ranger Smith around the stupid archer to a hill defending Prague, so I do so with smith and fudd.

1000BC - I fortify them on the hill and the archer scampers away so Prague is safe. I started mining a hill by Aachen (the grassland without forest).

So sorry about Boo Boo, may he rest in piece. We will get our vengence!!!

hehe nothing says lovin like an axe named boo boo.

May he rest in peace :jesus:

So Refar up, silver is out of town til wed and corneh is having technical issues.

Can finish up the BC years btw.

Cheers!
-Liq

I got the save.

Turns 120 - 136 - 1000 BC to 600 BC

We need more Axes :D
I made a few but it's not enought - Barbarian Axes started to pop from the East now, so we need at least one per city and maybe one spare...
And of course some to annoy Rosie till his head implodes. Can't be long till that happens. Especially as i hear he's smoking rice in his pipe now...

Rosies Archer fortified on a forest hill near Praga. Had to sacrifice a Warrior (Unnamed Hero who we not had money to buy an Axe for anyway :p) to lure him in to flat land... Killed him with a Axe then.

Turn 121: I sent Yogi towards Washington to take a look. Have to make sure there are no unauthorized workers around.
washingtonpu5.jpg

Turn 123: For some odd reason Rosie decided to move the Warrior out of Wasington. Yogi was excited to take Washington right away, but i - cowardly as i am - held him back, feeling it's too dangerous. I think if it wasn't Yogi i would have risked it...
washingtonwarrioril3.jpg

Killed the Warrior for some XP instead. Stumbled over NeyYork while at it.
newyorkuy7.jpg

Turn 126: Yogi got restless and pillaged Rosies Cottage on the Horses for a couple of gold pieces.
cottagenp9.jpg

Turn 128: Yogi noticed a new Worker in Washington. So we make peace, to make the worker feel safe.
worker1eo1.jpg

Turn 129: Rosie wants that rice really badly, because a shaman told him you could smoke rice in a pipe to see really cool colors... Got to try it myself on occasion - seems to be really addictive stuff.
For now Yogi just snags another worker...
worker2ar9.jpg

Not much else.
Killed one more Archer. Have 2 CRII Axes now - Yogi, and one whitout a name yet...

A Archer from Rosie is somewhere West from Washington - might try to sneak up on us. Also Watch out for that Barb Axe. Both should be no big problem - our Axes will be there in time.

Aachen has a few Hammers in a Library and will loose whip- in 4 or 5 turns... prehaps whip again...

Good fighting! Rosie must be smokin somethin good to be doing so poorly, maybe all those fishies and their pretty colors are getting to him :)

How many workers can you guys steal?

Yea, he rally has a bad day. I think we sould finish him off rather soon - despite those workers coming in very handy ;) - at some point he might sneak another Settler or even get some usefull units, which we not really want.

Should also keep an eye on those Horses - if he techs AH (I wonder how he managed not to have it yet...) - we want the Pasture to be and stay pillaged. A couple of Chariots can rally take the fun out of teasing him with Axes...

Btw. How many workers did we take now ? 4 ?
