Turns 174 - 191 / 10 AD - 265 AD

Turn 174: I switch tech for IW - it's 8 turns (Some deficit, but i am going to restock our cash, courtesy of Rosie). Will be nice to know where our iron is, before ultimately filling in the dot map. And we have 2 jungle infested dots in there as well.

Turn 178: Bloody Barb sunk our Galley at Prague :cry:
Need new one.
With troops in place make peace with Roosewelt giving him the chance to move out a Archer or two... Will declare and march in on the next turn.

Turn 179: Vienna is at happy cap and will start a Settler.

Turn 181: Declared on Rosie again and moved in. He had indeed moved 2 archers out of Washington, but they will be back there in time. Oh well. Can't allways get what i want.

Turn 182: Got IW and back on Aestetcis.
2 Sources of iron. One Grassland Iron right in between Vienna and Prague... right where none of both can work it. :hammer2:

At the same time right near Washington...
Dont take time to bring down the cultural defenses - would need 5 turns, in taht time he would whipp another archer and the two that just came back into town would get all fortified again... Not sure if and how Barrage is still brocken on 3.17. Hit him with a Barrage II Catapult and the results do look acceptable.

But then Jake, Roger, Yogi and Clint go in and avenge him. The later three are CR III now.

Now we have Washington, 94 Gold to replenish the treasury after i had spent some on IW, 2 more Workers (He had a settler ready to go) and a lot of Sushi.

Roosevelts Ashes are dispersed over the Memorial Rice Field. He really loved that Rice, back then, when he was alive.
Also because Ashes are rumored to be a good fertilizer.

Turn 183: The freaking Barb is going to pillage all the fishnets at Wahington, and there is nothing i can do about it.
Turn 184: Another Barb Galley pops out in the South, so Nuremberg will make a Galley to try to protect the Fish.
Turn 185: Iron is hoocked up. Not that we needed right now...
Whip the Galley in Nuremberg - should be in time to save the Fish. Also whip the one In Prague and try to send it after the Barb at Washington. Both Prag and Nuremeberg keep building a new Galley each.

Turn 187: Barb Galley at Nurmeberg sunk. The one at Washington start happily pillaging the Fish :mad:
On the bright side - while it is pillaging Fish at Washington, it does not pillage it at Prague. Move out the WB and rebuild the nets.
Whip monument at Washington.

Turn 188: Settler is done in Vienna and moves out towards Red Dot.
The Stupid barb can only pillage 3 of the 5 fish nets in Washington - the other are in deep water :lol:

Turn 190: Augsburg founded on the Red Dot.

Turn 191: Aestetics is in.
I am thinking Meditation - for 10% :science: in monasteries and Missionaries to Confuse some our new towns for Shrine money.
Then Literature for GL.

Prague, Nuremberg and Aachen working low food - Prague and Nuremberg waiting for whip :mad: to go away.
Aachen is at Happy cap again. Building Aqueduct as prereq for Gardens - i think whipping it as soon as it is only 2 pop might be a good idea.

There is a Barb Warrior around Prague. I am thinking to let Elmar try to handle him - if he can it's XP he needs to grow better... If not, we have Marble so he can have a nice shiny tomb.

Here the Dotmap with Iron marked. I dont think we need to change any plans. The Grassland iron is squesed between existing cities - we could maybe put a filler to work there later.
The Desert iron is not really a cool tile to work anyway.

hmm WTH with the iron hehe. Obviously it wasn;t following the dot map!

Well the east one is just in a wasteland beyond any means of hope.. too bad fishies don;t "pop" :lol:

And yeah the west iron is nice in that it encourages us to pop a filler city either north or south of the iron later on. Er, I guess south of the iron eh.

should move green dot one east and we can fit another filler town in later. It's like civ4 pokemon forr collect all the tiles!

Barrage for siege units was fixed in 3.17 to work as you would think. People 'min max' a thumbs down on the barrage promotion for early units like cats but it works a lot better than it did in 3.13. What got screwed in 3.17 are barrage promotions for units with no native bombard ability... i.e. TANKS! Since the barrage promotion now works off the base strength of a unit's bombard.. it's multiplying from the 0 strength of a tank.

A slight oversight worthy of the solver patch.

Anyway, yeah not sure WTH Liq was thinking skipping IW but good move there. As for meditation, is a nice tech but we don;t need it to pop missionaries since we just revolt to organized religion.. something we should do anyway. Forgot about organized religion as we got the tech before we actually had confusion hehe.

Those UB courthouses really nail upkeep a scary amount such that filling the marginal dots in the east shouldn;t be too bad.

As for tech. We need stuff to protect those fishnets as the barb galleys are going to keep coming under 3.17. If you want scary.. try a water map with raging barbs :eek:

Metal Casting holds the much maligned Trireme which is actually a useful unit now haha. I'd vote MC first actually so we can get our effing fish back and well Forges are nice.

er ok hold on, lit is 10 turns to MC's 21... lets get Lit out of the way first haha.

Well Grover or Corneh is up next, whoever can "got it" first.

Regardless, revolt to organized religion.

switch aachen to a settler should have done this right away as we dont need an aquaduct sorry for the :smoke; i configure aachen for max hamers so the settler gets out sooner but we lose 2 turns on Lit now due in 9

Mick screaming from the bridge to augusburg "you shall not pass" scared the barb spears away and now theyre heading to washington
clint who was heading to augusburg is redirected to washington but it will take him 4 turns but the spears will only take 2 turns oh oh. We still got tod defending washington

TODD is a monster killing all 4 spears and left with 50% hp washington is safe once again "our people rejoice"

Im sending our axes out for fogbusting. Lit will be in in 2 turns. were currently running -4 GPT at 50% slider with 161 gold in our bank.

i suggest we tech towards optics asap after lit were isolated now and we need to start meeting other civs soon also getting the circ bonus would be nice.

hehe Todd is always a Bigman, as is Cecil. I'll monkey with the save a bit to rename units to their fitting titles.

And yeah, Optics is required posthaste imo. Metal Casting after lit.

I'm back. Looks like the game is going swimmingly with Rosie's extermination. Slot me back in wherever, but keep in mind I still have to catch up on what's been going on.

I'll go MC after Lit and ensure to revolt to organized religion, need to spread a little and get some temples. Where do we want to build the GL? Aachen?
 
well meditation is 4 turns and gives us 10% research for a while.. I'd actually pop that off fast before mc.

OK so I was on my last enter when a great scientist pops in Aachen. What should I do with him? I'll do his action, save and then pass on. By the way, should I switch to CS now that we are running multiple scientists? we can settle him or build an academy in Aachen (or research alaphabet, but thats useless atm.
 
Generally good to use first few GP (scientist or priest) on academy or shrine respectively. Capital isn;t hammer bound so plunk him down there.

BTW turns are not set in stone so if you have a natural pausing point +/- 7ish turns from the allotted 15, go for it. :)

Yay, Lit comes in so we can start on the GL soon. I select Meditation, due in 3 turns. Library done in Vienna so I start on a missionary to send to Jelly and Peanut Butter Park. I put two scientists in Vienna to stagnate until whip :mad: goes away.

460AD - Boring, move axes to further bust up the fog. Soon there will only be fog in the water hahahaha.

Med comes in so I start MC, due in 16 turns at 50% and we're losing 10gpt...not good. I'll let it go for a little, Rath's and another scientist will help soon. Aquaduct finishes in AAchen so I start on the GL. Says 22 turns, but thats not good enough so I remove one scientist and work a hill, not effecting research but bringing in the GL in 17 turns...better. I 1pop whip the monument in Augsberg at sezi three, 30 turns to finish is too long for me and the jungle is going to be cleared shortly. I move a citizen in Prague from a farm to the wooded grassland, stagnating growth since it is at its happy cap changing the library from 9-7 turns.

So the GS is born in Aachen so I build an academy there (academy, library and soon GL...wow science is gonna rock soon).

580AD - Granary finishes in Jellystone, I mined a hill w/ forest (maybe a smoked the wrong stuff on that one) but it wasn't marked. I select a WB and tell a worker to build a pasture at Jellystone.

595AD - Library finishes in Prague, so I select a WB to replace the poor guy who got his nets caught in the barbarian galley. Missionary is done in vienna so I send it to Jellystone and start a monastary...45 turns...hmmmm...switch a scientist to a hill changing it to 15 turns for mon., 12 for growth which will be past the happy cap so watch it. WB done in Jellystone so I select a Rath. -4.86 gpt because of Jellystone...ticket sale revenue must be down, I think Rosie's statue is under construction scarring away all the visitors :rolleyes: Work clams w/ WB at Jellystone. Nuremberg is 1 turn from growing into happy cap so I 2pop whip the Rath.

610AD - Rath is done in Nuremberg so I select a library, I really didn't know what to select. So I'm ending it here, otherwise I'll keep going forever.

Stupid swordsman. Axes are fortified fogbusting, the one right next to the swordsman is fortified, hopefully he can take the beating.
 
Ah crap just saw Jellystone is working the forested grassland instead of fish, that will help w/ growth and research. Whoever's next change that (or horses, whichever is better).
 
Nice turns ks. And yeah I keep calling jellystone washington... whatever that is :confused:

Keep in mind jellystone will be national park asap so please no more chopping hills. This two hills chopped are fine simply because in the meantime jellystone is going to need those hammers. Come sci method those mines are going to be destroyed to grow back.
