Looking at the SS, i think the best option is to settle 1W (contender):
this way you don't loose the fresh water bonus, and the 2nd city can work the northern gold, already in the cultural borders of London.
After CS, London can take it back and in the meantime you got 2 good cities. Let's hope there's marble in the tundra, a CS sling would be perfect.

AH-writing-alpha to try to trade for early techs, unless we're with only one neighbour: in this case, a nice warrior rush can be useful.

Pregame discussion is the worst part of any game. To move settler or not to move - that is the question! I hate positions where I need to choose between two good and useful resources. Pig or corn? I want both!!!

Well, that may be true for their bee-line, but they will move, wont they? Without a city to head for, will they head for "player units" instead? I really dont know how they work, I was guessing they wont stand still. They may wander aimlessly though, and end up FARTHER away!

They code it wrong sometimes in their link... just enter:

Change the contender to challenger if needed...

I've not played a culture game yet, so this will be a new experience with new strategies to discover. 
I fixed it now - sorry! (That downloads page is a brutal one to create as it currently has to be done manually - and even with cutting and pasting from previous ones, the scope for typos is massive... )

This is kind of spoilerish for anyone who hasn't decided which save to play yet.The savefiles are correct

I just submitted a loss in the GOTM28 
and came here to read if any new ideas are floating. I guess some sort of a spoiler mystary is news 
. So I guess no errors on the save now.
On to build all
(just kidding) wonders. I just realized that no one was going for the CS sling. I think I will go for it. So I will settle on the 1W or 1S tile and build a worker, Go for AH and at size 2 build a settler to get the corn and the second gold. I am going to try to copy Belbas Alpha path if there are other civs with us on the land mass, Else will try the GS-math trick ( I am not sure if this is possible without a Sitting Bull type leader-Philo).
I wont start the game until tomorrow or even later (I want to replay the first 200 or so turns in GOTM 28). So if any one want to leave any advise you are very welcome. Thanks.

@Htadus: I tried the CS slingshot on 1W in a practice game and pulled it off around 1400bc. ONly needed 1 chop for the Oracle and had-researched maths. Not sure when the AIs are likely to finish the Oracle, but it looks doable on the Contender save at the least. I'll probably go for it even if I decide to try the challenger save, which I'm leaning towards.
