BOTM Compatibility for noobs

Hi all,

So I want to try to participate in the BOTM, but I got the load error about the mod and whatnot. I had installed BTS 3.13, then HOF mod 3.13, but ahh then I installed Bhruics mod, and I think that's what screwed me up.

So what I'm going to do is uninstall BTS, then reinstall BTS. Then I will download HOF mod 3.13 and install it. I WILL NOT THEREAFTER INSTALL BHRUIC'S PATCH.

Do I understand correctly that this should solve my problem, or am I wasting my time?

I enjoy seeing how much culture my buildings will produce, among other boons from the Bhruic patch. Is there any possibility of compatibility in the future or of integration of Bhruics fixes into future HOF mod releases? Not demanding of course, just new and wondering, I intend to participate either way!

The HOF mod has a earlier version of Bhruichs patch so no worries, just dont install the latest version and you'll be set.

Most parts of Bhruic's patch are included in the HoF mod, so no need to worry.

I think in my case I would actually need a new machine (mine is a 2004 notebook so no point in piecemeal hardware upgrades)

While on Warlords I installed the Improved AI & Improved Handicaps. (multiple versions)

On BTS, after the DVD install, I installed Solver's patches including the MA fix. That was also several versions.

After 3.13, I installed Bhuric's patch. (Again multiple versions)

At some point a few months later I started having occansional crashes during the CD-check. (Athough it took a few weeks to figure out the real cause). That evenually esculated to two out of three times it crashed during it. I had to find on the net a highly unoffical work around because the crashes on startup had virtually killed enjoyment.

Most parts of Bhruic's patch are included in the HoF mod, so no need to worry.

Yeah, there is a post somewhere (in another subforum) that says just what of bhruic's patch is & isn't in the HOF mod, but I simply don't recall anymore where it is or what it says.

I think one reason for differences is that the HOF mod came out before bhruic's last revision to his patch.

Release notes for the HOF Mod are, not surprisingly, available on the HOF site here. They give details of the mods included, and there's a list of the Bhruic patch changes that are incorporated, along with lots more information.
