Box art

I guess you mean something like...that you could place Conan the Barbarian right in the middle and it would style wise still work...

Personally I like it :).

It actually works perfectly with Conan sitting between Attila and Boudica!
Personally, I like the box art. I think it's better than the overpopulated civ5 box art. On a side note, is it just me or does Attila look more European than Asian?

^ love it!

Heh. Boudicca looks a lot better here than she does in-game.

And yes, Attila doesn't look Asian. At a guess I'd say he looks Turkish.

How would you depict a god ^^?

Seriously, Attila is named "King of the Huns" in Wikipedia, but not sure if he really had some sort of divine right of kings, or if it's just used as general term for a ruler.

Perhaps something to do with divine lights? Temples? Halos?

@all: Okay, okay, I get it with the god .

:goodjob: great.
Could you maybe upload this to our image gallery :)?

I'm currently trying to figure out how to get the image with a higher resolution from target.com (they obviously have it in a higher resolution), but I can only find the 410*410 pixels version :/.

Can anyone see what's behind David and if that represents anything?

For what it's worth, David was a King ;)

I'll upload it right now.

@Louis XXIV

I think there just the ceiling of a building behind David. It looks like a dome, so it could be the ceiling of the original building Davids located in.

Gotta say I like the Conan version better than the non Conan version. Aesthetically in my mind would look better if something was there in the center.

Hmmm. don't like it. Didn't really like the vanilla box either. I did like the simplicity of the special editions box though.

I was thinking about Conan the Barbarian when I saw this too! They look so naff 80's fantasy.

People living in central Asia dont always look what you think as typical "Asian". For example Genghis Khan is said to have had red hair and green eyes.

Understand that there is no clear line where you can tell Caucasian people from Asian people. When you travel from West -Europe to China you notice that people slowly start to look more "Asian".

Also many European people have "Asian genes". Hungarians are about 15% Asian and Finns are about 10% Asian genetically. Small group of people called Sami people living in Northern Europe are 50% Asian genetically.

It could be, but this is not by any stretch of the imagination proof. Where did you get your proof for it, Arioch?
Huh? I never said it was in the game for sure; I was offering a suggestion of why it might be on the box.

Maximo the Xth said:
It is already in the game - it´s the marble symbol...
Yes, but that's not an explanation for why it's on the box for G&K. The fact that it's already being used for something doesn't necessarily mean it won't be used for something else. The dove symbol is also already in the game, but it's being changed to the Faith symbol.

The explanation may simply be, "the artist thought it looked cool." But it's possible that it means more than that.

I wouldn't judge Attila's appearance too much: box-Attila probably looks as much like game-Attila as box-Boudicca looks like game-Boudicca:-
