For far too long Eastern Europe had been rought with internal strife. The more than twenty ethnic groups had constantly been vieing for power and as soon as they gained their independence they would again be conquested by some other power. Salvation seemed likely when Eastern Europe joined United Europe more than 50 years ago, and lived in great prosperity for many years. This changed though, as the west began abusing the people of Eastern Europe.... It started when the west's overwhelming power and population allowed them to elect every leader, and the East was forced to go to the parliament to get their point across. When the Wests power increased the number of parliament seats decreased, and soon the West could easily shoot down any bill or law or aguement that the East made. This became even worse when the West set a large tarriff on exports such as coal and oil, the number one exports from the East, taxing the East almost 5 times more than the West. The East began talks of rebellion, but these were quickly shot down but the increased military occupation by the West of western men. Soon the East had no political power, and was ruled almost entirely by the West. These revolts were forgotten though when war broke out with Russia and the country united behind the government and began to fight the Enemy invaders. The Eastern Europeans saw all the action, and all Eastern Divisions were used on the front as Western divisions were mostly used as reserves and saw much less combat on average than an Eastern Division. Many great leaders emerged from the East, such as Chuikov and Polozinski. The war was over and a small portion of land wa taken, but so little it wasnt worth the loss of life. The people began to live in peace and prosperity again and the number of people joining the army increased, and many new war colleges were founded by Chuikov and Polozinski, and many great militaryminds were discovered, especially in Poland. The abuse by the West began to be realized again as the West tried to close down some of the war colleges, saying that we are in a time of peace and need not have any more war, realizing the threat they had allowed to grow in the East. The colleges were forced to be closed, but this angered many of the people, especially Chuikov and Polozinski, and the two began organizing the states and began talks of revolution....
5 years after the closing of the war colleges, the state of Poland seceded from the United European Nation, and almost immediately after Romania seceded as well. Hungary and Austria seceded at the same time and Lithuania and Estonia joined shortly after. The West was outraged and demanded that the East reunite immediately or be forced to, and began the invasion. The Eastern Divisions were much better organized, had very skilled leadership, and had experience from the war with Russia and the first assualt by the West was entirely annihalated and destroyed. With this first victory the United State of Yugoslavia seceded as well and with it came Latvia. ALso came the state of Czechoslavakia, but the state was split in two as the Slavs wanted to rebel but the czechs remained loyal to the union. Bulgaria as well. With all of southeastern Europe, the baltic, and Poland united the East began an assault to liberate Greece from the Wests rule.
Greece was very undecided as many people immigrated from the northern states before the war and wanted Greece to Join the east, while native Greeks wanted to remain loyal to the West. The East easily took the Northern parts of greece with the help of loyal locals, but when they reached the South the West launched a suprise attack forcing them into a war of attrition, which the East could never win.
Seeing initial success in Greece the state of Ukraine (newly conquered from Russia in the war) joined the East but provided little help other than economic and diplomatic support.
An attack on Finland was also launched and loyal Fins eventually joined the East seeing their chance to gain a better standing in the world.

Not only had nearly all the Eastern defenders die in the gas and assault, the densly populted city of vienna was devestated and hundreds of thousands of civilians were killed by the horrible gas. This was also made worse by teh charge, which killed the attack force of the West as they charged straight into the gas they themselves unleashed. The result of the battle was over 3 million dead, the worst and bloodiest battle the world had yet seen.
This was the last straw, many other countries were outraged by the massacre and began mobolizing their forces to aid the East. Huge riots broke out in the West, and Paris was almost entirely burned down by rioters and looters, the worst riot in the West's history.

Prime Minister Shirer
Henry Shirer was sitting on a beautifully upholstered chair in his private quarters, brooding as he did most every night. He was the most powerful man on the moon, and had an imposing figure and a great stature, standing just scarce of two meters tall. But at the moment, you wouldnt know any of that. He looked sullen and depressed. He was reliving that fateful day thirty-seven years ago.
Shirer was a starfighter pilot in his youth, one of the best there was. He had joined the Luna Defense Force at the age of eighteen to escape the poverty ridden slum that he had spent his youth in. He proved his skills in a starfighter, and was given command of the 102nd Wing. While in command of the 102nd, Henry met a beautiful female mechanic named Andromeda. They soon grew to become good friends, and before they knew it, they were married. But not all good things can last forever.
In 2182, America declared Luna to be a rogue nation, and resolved to reconquer its former subject. Hundreds of American starfighters and dozens of American starcruisers set out for Luna. Behind then followed a myriad of transport ships, all of which were packed with American Troops. Needless to say, Shirers wing was called on to defend the Mooninite way of life. Before he left, Henry promised his love that he would come back alive. Andromeda gave Henry a picture of herself to help him remember what he was fighting for. Shirer along with the rest of the Lunar Fleet disembarked shortly thereafter.
The American forces were more numerous than those of Luna, so the Lunar Fleet was kept in orbit around Luna so as to gain the benefit of Defense Satellite and Ground Battery support fire. The Second Battle of Luna began on April 17, 2182. The starcruisers were the first to open fire, using their long range laser lances. Vessel after vessel disappeared in a red blossom of thermal energy. The fighters on each side had closed the distance and began the dance of death that is a dogfight. Missile barrages and lances of light filled the dark void. In the initial missile barrage, nearly half of the 102nd Wing was wiped out, and Shirer had narrowly escaped death through the use of a tight swerve. Shirers mind focused on his objective, to seek and destroy. He ignored the lances and missiles exchanged by the capital ships, satellites, and ground batteries. One after another, he lined his vessel up behind Yank fighters and reduced their vessels to slag with his lasers. Only once was his vessel trailed by an enemy fighter, and he easily shook off the offender. Shirer had racked up six confirmed kills when the American forces disengaged. The Admiral gave the order not to pursue, and the remains of the 102nd Wing broke off their assault.
The Admiral told the Fleet to return to Luna, as hundreds of landing ships had broken through the Lunar Fleet and were unloading their cargo of spacesuit-clad Marines on the surface. A dreadful thought entered Shirers head, but he quickly dispelled it. He put his engines to full thrust and locked his sights a landing ship on the surface. When the vessel was in range, Shirer opened up with his lasers to little avail. The lander must have had reinforced armor. Shirer hoped that the Cruisers lasers would be more effective. At that moment, a shot from a landing ships battery scored a glancing hit on Shirers fighter. Dozens of claxons sounded and all the lights started flashing red. Shirer knew he was in trouble. He was able to maneuver his fighter into a controlled landing.
Once hed landed, Shirer donned the helmet to his spacesuit and drew the military-issued rifle that was under his seat. He opened the fighters hatch and leapt onto Lunas surface. He spotted a platoon of Yanks less than a kilometer away. He hid behind his ruined fighter so as to avoid detection. Shirer aligned his rifles scope with one of the Yanks helmets. He pulled the trigger and was nearly knocked off his feet by the recoil. Were it not for his led boots and reduced recoil rifle, he would have been sent flying backwards. Shirer reluctantly peered above the fighters chassis once again, only to see that the Yanks were continuing on their course towards an airlock into Lunas colonies. He then picked off another of the Yanks, but this time two of the Americans began firing suppression fire in Shirers direction. Shirer waited for their fire to subside, but by the time it had done so, the Yanks were too far away to hit. Shirer looked at his oxygen gage, it was still pretty full. Shirer began set off towards one of the concealed airlocks into the colonies that only Mooninites knew about. He entered, pressurized the airlock, and took off the hefty spacesuit. Shirer faintly smelled the gas propellant used in modern guns and heard screams and gunfire. This environment contrasted sharply with the soundless vacuum of space that he had spent the last four hours in.
Shirer, rifle in hand, raced through corridor after desolate corridor to where the sounds of battle were coming from. When he heard Texan and Californian accents in the voices of those in the next hallway, he hid behind the door, awaiting the enemy troops. The first one he saw, he shot in the midsection. The Yank soldier doubled over and fell to the ground. Then, three troops stormed in. Shirer was able to mow down two of them, but the third was too fast for Shirer. The burly Yank took a shot at Shirer, and an unimaginable pain shot up Shirers right arm. He dropped his gun immediately. Shirer quickly recovered from the shock and fingered the knife in his boot using his left hand. In the blink of an eye, he hurled the knife. It embedded itself into the Yanks chest, killing him instantaneously.
Shirer hastily locked the door to the next hall, and took out his military issued med pack, found the gauze and dressed his hand, or what remained of it. Within minutes, Shirer was drifting in and out of consciousness due to blood loss. He took the syringe marked caffeine and injected himself with the vile substance. Caffeine had been banned as a dangerous drug decades ago. Shirer felt his strength returning to him, and set off to the nearest command hub. He found it, and was granted entry upon punching in the necessary code. The coordinator of the hub told asked Shirer what the status of the Americans in the corridor he came from was. He told them that he had locked the doors and that nothing short of a heavy demolition charge would allow passage through that chamber. Slightly relieved, the coordinator told Shirer to get some medical attention, but Shirer opted to observe the battle from the command hub. Shirer cursed his luck for crash landing over fifty kilometers away from his beloved Andromeda. How he hoped she would be alright. Shirer asked the coordinator what the status of Delta-67 complex was. This was where Andromeda worked and lived. When the coordinator responded was overrun, Shirer passed out.
Of course, the Americans were swiftly wiped out by the Lunar Army. But that changed nothing for Shirer. From that day on, Shirer has held a deep-seated hatred towards America. He did not hate them so much for taking away his arm or even his buddies in the 102nd Wing; but he hated them for taking away his only love.

In Atlanta a similar occurance caused a bus to explode killing 40 people and injuring 8 others.
The US Attorney General a long champion of the re-instiution of slavery has been assassinated while in the city of San Francisco. The native Californian was twice at a range of over 1250 metres while attending the opening of that cities new High Courts building. His successor is yet to be named and his assassin is yet to be captured.
