I dunno, actually. There's a lot of ways this could go.

Vietnam just has to make it.

There are just too many supporters. I'm not even one of them, but I support the supporters (I mean, I am one of them, but not at the same level of desire as the supporters)

Also, a double leaderscreen would just be sick

And they can make the Trung sisters hot twins even though they weren't actually twins, but who cares, because that'll sell. :D

Even if they weren't hot that would still sell. :D

But I do agree at this point of all the Asian civilizations, Vietnam probably would have the most support, I'd wager.

Well, if this thread has become thus.

BNW has some very interesting developments regarding civs, interest on SE Asia with Indonesia, wanting to include defined natives instead of "native american empire", first with Pueblo then with Shoshone, Eastern Europe got some love with Poland, and the first latin American civ, Brazil.

That said, Western Europe is now incredibly crowded, and they somehow managed to make a scramble for Africa scenario and not include Kongo. I'd love a third expansion that focused on filling the representing the rest of the world. But realisticly, I imagine we would still get 2 euros.

Anyway my wishlist/prediction would be:

-Romania East Europe could use one more, besides Vlad Tepes would make one hell of a marketable leader.
-Sicily Sicily as a crusader civ could be interesting, and at least wouldnt feel as "yet another euro" gameplay wise.
-Nepal Firaxis obviously had some interesting ideas for a mountain civ, Nepal could fill that gameplay niche nicely, plus, Gurkhas are awesome.
-Vietnam Lots of fans, interesting history, recognizable world wide, and a possible double leaderscreen.
-Kongo Again, cant believe Kongo wasnt included in BNW in Scramble for Africa along with Portugal, the game need more Sub saharan africans.
-Mexico Rich history, recognizable culture, lots of flavour, we need a Spanish speaking latin american civ.
-Timurids Silk Road civ, unique architecture, recognizable leader, they could go with an interesting, warmongerer/trade flavour.
-Haida I think they would be more interesting than the Inuit, naval raider civ, with a very unique look.
-Muisca We have El Dorado already, I'd like to have another south American native, they could have a cool UA regarding precious metals, plus they would feature one of the coolest leaderscreens.

Betwen Mexico, Gran Colombia and Argentina, I cant help it but to be a bit biased to my home country, I think it would be an excelent candidate for the latin american civ spot. One colonist civ, one post colonial civ, seems right, sadly I dont see Firaxis adding 2 more latin americans.

England-America
Portugal-Brazil
Spain-Mexico

And that way we would also get between Mesoamerica and south America:

2-post colonial (Brazil,Mexico)
4-natives (Aztec, Mayan, Inca, Muisca)

I dont know, it rounds up nicely and sounds right to me.

Venice seems very weak. It looks like they'd need +100% to great merchant points to even have a chance.

I think that another expansion pack isn't as likely as another run of 7 DLC civs, so I'm going to make a guess of three dlcs, each focusing on an element of one of the previous expansions, thus bringing it to a total of 50 civs, for some sort of completion's sake.
1. Oh wait we probably should have each religion have a civ too Pack:
  • Sikh Empire, with faithy granary and longsword replacements
  • Israel, with some sort of holy city bonus
  • Khazaria, with faith mixed with trade
2. Glorious Revolutionary Time! (Ideology Pack)
  • Gran Columbia, with Liberation bonuses everywhere
  • Vietnam, with ideological resistance and guerrilla fighting ability
3. Cash Rules Everything Around Me: (Trade Pack)
  • Tuscany, with a bank replacement that works with GWAM or Timurids, because a silk road warmonger that actually includes the trade bit would be interesting.
  • Oman representing Swahili cultures (Sea Trade) or Mississipians, with land trade bonuses and mound building.

I bet money on this list homeboi ain't nuttin to **** with

Probable:
Hungary
Kongo
Vietnam
Gran Colombia
Canada
Australia
Sumer
Sioux
Italy

Israel (religious/political issues probably will keep Jerusalem as a city state forever)

Gran Colombia
Haiti
Mississippians/Inuit (Cities and leaders are not easy here)

Hittites

My seven to fill out the roster to 50 (based off of what I want to see, not what is necessarily probable):

The Inuit
Nepal
Holy Roman Empire
The Mughals
Israel
Kongo
The Timurids

Obviously some of these would require existing civs to change (HRE and Germany, The Mughals and India), but both that I mentioned need a change anyway.

wanted new civs:
44.Olmec- culture/ science side
45.Sudan- Rex side
46.Romania- Warfare/ defensive
47.Vietnam- cultural/ defensive/ espionage
48.Nepal- religous/ mountanous.
49.Pueblo- epionage/ mountanous. First purpous built espionage civ.
50.South Africa (black horsiest)- offense/ economics. Some trade route bonuses and an offensive great war unit to go up against the legion would fit nice

Packs if not together in expansion:
Pack 1: vietnam/ nepal (south asia pack) with a "scramble for the indies" scenario including [europe]- england, france, netherlands, portugal, spain. [asia]- India, siam, vietnam, nepal, indonesia, non-playable china
Pack 2: Olmec/ Pueblo with a meso american culture war scenario including- Pueblo, aztecs, scenario specific toltecs, maya, olmec, inca, no playable chonca, non playable polynesia, non playable shoshone (act more as "end of the map" markers and trade partners)
Pack 3: Romania with an ottoman assault scenario including- Ottomans, Romania, poland, venice, scenario specific Hungary, scenario specific HRE, non playable russia.
Pack 4: sudan with an ancient africa war including- Greece, Egypt, carthage, Sudan, scenario specific phoenicia, moors (ancient equivelant), and non playable sea peoples.
5: south africa, with an englich invasion scenario.

If I could choose I'd pick:
Hungary (last Euro civ I 'm interested in)
Israel (will probably never happen)
Hittites or Sumeria (either is OK as long as Israel gets in)
Kongo
Swahili
Vietnam
Tibet (will also never happen though)
Gran Colombia (even if it's just to get Bolivar in)
Australia in some form (Aboriginal or colony)

Probable never gonna come a third expansion but if it would be made this list seems more likely:
Hungary
Bulgaria
Hittites
Sumeria
Kongo
Vietnam (or Khmer)
Gran Colombia (or Argentina)
Australia (modern version in all likelihood)
And probably a third European civ (like Serbia or Romania)

I love that Nepal has snowballed in popularity so much in recent weeks. They deserve it. (Poor fellas, sandwiched in between China and India so their thunder is always stolen)

Given Nepal's versatility, there is so much they could do with mountains to provide for unique gameplay that goes beyond the Carthage crossing mountains gimmick. Can't say I like their prospects though. Don't know why. Just a hunch

I concur. It is a glorious day for a nation I am not a part of, have no heritage in, and no reason to care for them so much save for their signifigance... I'm very about signifigance and sense (sense in the way of not making the STUPID FREAKING HUNS... (still bitter)... a cultural powerhouse, or having US's ability being about tall religion.)

Pack 3: Romania with an ottoman assault scenario including- Ottomans, Romania, poland, venice, scenario specific HRE, non playable russia.

Yeah right, you would want that with Romania instead of Hungary
Seems plausible for an "ottoman assault" scenario...

you know, i like to see Inuit, Vietnam, Canada, central-asian civs, and Normandy.
why central-asian? cause it has silk road, has Samarqand, and with incridible city of sciences, i'm delighted if we would have another science civs

Nine is more likely for the next expansion and more DLCs would be a disappointment. 70% of multiplayer games seem to be unaware they even exist and its a pain in the ass when to host when I have to kick a dozen players who are unaware of steam sales for these DLCs.

Anyway for my list

Italy
Kongo

are the mainstays on my list. Both are popular requested. Venice being ingame doesn't count Italy out. Its popularity will make it a expansion seller. Its deserving enough with the wonders we have of it in game and the famous people. It would fit best as a Cultural Civ with bonuses towards producing GP along with some trade bonuses. Trying to incorporate all the city states as their own Civilizations however would just be disastrous (like Venice) and would take away slots from other Civilizations.

Kongo was one of the most significant African empires in the later centuries and one of the largest in history. It is in the top 10 of longest lasting African empires beaten only by Ethiopia, Kush(Sudan), Ottomans, Kanem, Bornu and Egypt. It would be more militaristic.

After that its a toss up between these civs for me

If they do a third expansion pack, I'd say those would be my favourites:

Europe:
  • Hungary
  • Normans
  • Ukraine(mostly based on the Kievan Rus')

Mesopotamia:
  • Sumerians

Asia:
  • Vietnam

Africa:
  • Kongo
  • Ashanti

Americas:
  • Shawnee
  • Gran Columbia

Kievian Rus was a precursor to Russia and is presumably included as part of Russia much in the same way that the Holy Roman Empire is included as part of Austria and Germany, the Vikings as part of the Danes, Castille as part of Spain etc.
