Brave New World's 9 new Civs

This purple civ literally throws off what appeared to be smooth, effective confirmation of Venice and a Native American civ. I can't imagine the Republic of Venice using purple and what NA civ uses purple (other than Iroquois)? Then again, China should have been yellow, I think, so the colours aren't always going to be the most sensible.

Not sure exactly what you're referring to (atrocities during the civil war?), but whatever it is, it hasn't stopped Firaxis from including Germany, Russia, China, Japan, or England. Or France. Or America, the Mongols, the Aztecs…really, who hasn't committed crimes against humanity?

*cough*...the turks... *cough*

Pueblo could use purple which is considered a fairly holy color, we see trade of shells during the Mesoamerican era into the region

I would like to point out something about "the remaining 2 civs have to be between P and Z" theory. AFAIK this wasn't mentioned yet.
We all know the Pueblo was among the 9 planned civs. Who says the order of the achievements wasn't made back then?

IMO it's very plausible that the civ replacing the Pueblo stayed on the 7th spot in the achievements even after the civ-change. They simply didn't rearrange the list.
This of couse means, that either of the last two civs can start with any letter of the alphabet!!

The Sioux have been purple in Civ before, but Civ II was a bit different.

The choices aren't always logical though.

Also, is Morocco's new UU the unit hinted at in the QA?

A bit off topic, but I've been looking for a bow that long for a while, where did you get it from?

Seriously though, I doubt they had the achievements written out that early in development and I doubt they'd not redo them at such a time that they choice to use another Civ.

I'm still going with Venice and a NA civ. The colors don't always represent the chosen civ anyway. My prognostication: the purple civ is one of the NA civs and Venice will be blue and gold...and so it shall be.

Pueblo come alphabetically after Portugal. The list still stands with them theoretically a possibility

Me. I haven't...
yet.

But seriouly, it's a completely different thing in the many cases you listed.
Yugoslavia is incredibly more problematic. It's not even a country anymore, in account of what happened.
I have serious objections against a civilization that doesn't even share a national identity - it seems like the exactly opposite of what I think should be the criteria for inclusion in the game (Yugoslavia was a country, not a civ).

:P
IMO it's totally plausible that they simply didn't rearrange the achievement list

Seems like it, which makes another cavalry unit for the 'Sioux' much less likely imo.

Again why? The Pueblo still fit after Portugal and Poland alphabetically

I would say that the new city-states can be:

Buenos Aires
Havana
Lagos
Santiago
Mexico City
Luanda
Taipei
Bogota
Dubai

The purple and white is the inverse of Carthage's colors, yeah?

I buy that it's the Sioux. Pretty much the only reason we expect them is as a nostalgia trip back to Civ 2, so why not give them their old-school color?

Well the Phoenicians are certainly linked with purple . . .

:mischief:

Oh... POOPOO! I didn't see that coming.

Mexico city AKA Tenochtitlan. Do you even history bro?

Yeah, it definitely does. Hussar - Lancer, Berber Calvary - Calvary. It's looking like the NA tribe will get a pre-industiral UU.
