Do you eat bacon and sausage for breakfast?! I don't want to know what you eat for dinner...

I eat cornflakes for breakfast. Kellogg's cornflakes. The original and best!

Bacon and sausage is not an everyday thing with most people.

People dont have time to do it on the weekdays, most people who work probably make it on the weekends.

I like sausage better, but not the regular sausage.

Bacon is good every once in a while. :coffee:

Sausage is easier to eat on its own; bacon requires sandwiches or something. Sausage is also better on pizza, in pasta sauce, and in a bun with spicy mustard. And it actually feels like you're eating something with substance.

So maybe somebody can explain to me why Canadian bacon isn't just called "ham". Am I missing something? Is it ancient Canucki secret?

Back bacon is quite a bit different from ham, but still similar in some ways. It's much tastier than ham, though.

Bacon and sausage for breakfast? I have to say, the English dropped the ball here. Now the French, they know how to do breakfast.

Are you freakin kiding me. The french are the worst at breakfast. Plus there milk is like 6% fat. I never had worst breakfasts in my life then in my trip to france.

Agreed, 6% is nasty, even though i dont drink milk.

If i drunk something that thick i would barf.

Do you sell a lot of the pre cooked bacon? I used to hate the stuff, but once I figured out it saves me a lot of time, I like it more.

Precooked bacon sells OK, but it doesn't taste as good as fresh fried bacon & tends to be a little rubbery. I like it as a retailer because it is shelf stable, has a longer sell by date & doesn't take up space in the cooler.

They are different cuts of meat. Bacon comes from the belly which is why it is called pork belly by commodities traders. Canadian bacon comes from the back. Ham comes from the upper back legs. If you are eating ham, you might be eating a pig's buttocks.:)

If I'm making it myself, definitely bacon, as I can eat as much of it as I want.

But if I'm eating breakfast in a restaurant, I'll usually go with sausage, as they are usually the same price and you usually get a larger portion if you order sausage.

That's true, but, with bacon, you know you are getting all meat. Sausage can have all kinds of fillers in it.

Thanks, guys. I can distinguish between the cuts of cows, but I don't eat enough pig to be able to notice the difference there. Can't figure out why I didn't think of that, though. :mischief: Anyway, the OP didn't specify what bacon, so even though Canadian bacon sounds like it's not technically bacon, I like it better than the fried strips of fat.

That's true, but only if you consider fat, meat. Fat in bacon is just as much a filler to me as anything they might put in sausage.

Why eat croissants for breakfast? They're too light. That'll keep me going for maybe an hour.
A breakfast of sausages, bacon, toast, maybe some beans, a lot of butter and then maybe a croissant too (in order of importance):
that's a proper way to break a fast.

I can go for nine hours on a single croissant (and a cup of tea, for obligatory Britishness). Besides, they're just too flaky and tasty and mmm to be discarded for the lesser, lumpier carnivore food.
