Very soft and romantic music, that lets you forget all your daily toubles for a while, gentle and tender, it flows down to your ears, its rhythm joins your innocent heartbeat. You remember some pleasant moments of your life, or of the life you wanted to live; you're sitting somewhere on the top of the hill covered with emerald grass, there's a wide valley in front of you, you're looking at the milky fog covering the river dale, licking oaks' trunks and leaves. You feel like you're breathing in all that latitude and freshness...

...Oh, what was I talking about.. Oh, yeah. Are there any fans of Blur, Richard Ashcraft, Manic Street Preachers etc...
What do you find in this music for yourself? What bands do you like? Well, feel free to discuss your impression ;)

I usually listen such music after I come from school. I fall on my sofa, as if I were some log and I can't move, I feel myself very tired; Music like that becomes a cure for my headache and bad mood. I prefer listening it alone, it's not for big parties (but for dates it's perfect) .

some songs from the golden era of soft british pop two years ago you might will like:

sparklehorse - gold day
badly drawn boy - the shining
simian - turn around
zero 7 - distraction
ed hardcourt - those crimson tears
the bees - sky holds the sun (you got to hear it;))
turin brakes - the boss
kings of convenience - manhattan skyline (norweigans :ack: )
elbow - powder blue

The Manics, Blur and Elastica have all had their moments I must admit - but in general I consider britpop to have been a blight upon music in this country.

Oasis were the best Britpop band by far.
Which is exactly my problem with it as a whole. The bands I preferred were the least britpoppy of the pack, I think. ;)

Of Oasis I only own the "What's the Story (Morning Glory)" and always thought they did not get any better after that.

Manic Street Preachers are good too. But are they Brit-Pop?

Blur had some good songs. And I liked Supergrass.

But today I wouldn't buy/download Brit-Pop anymore. Too repetitive.

I used to love it, but it's worn thin on me, especially today, the new Birtish bands are all popping out the same stuff, no real originality in any of them anymore.

I miss the heyday of the Charlatans, Stone Roses, Inspiral Carpets etc.

I love Catherine Wheel as well.

As for Oasis: :vomit:

Why waste your time with Britpop when you could listen to the Stones?!?

I guess they could technically be classified as British Pop Music though.

Why is it that every music conversation I get involved in eventually involves goats?

Actually, I don't think it's limited to music.

What's wrong with goats?

And tsf, love your sig, I know where the quote is from, and it was a priceless sketch!

And sorry, but I'll take the Stone Roses over the Rolling Stones, music wise only of course, if I had to spend time with the Stone Roses personally, I think I'd ultimately end up throwing them off a bridge.

When you're talking about goats, no matter which end you're looking at, it's trouble.

Hey, I put my pants on like everybody else. Except that once I put my pants on, I make gold records.

Hey, your loss!

Did anyone like Manics' latest single "there be the grace of God"?
I saw a conversation where a person said this song was very much alike Queen's songs of Innuendo period.
