[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

I don't see a big difference between these and Chuggi's, except for the water tiles.

Looks similar, but brighter to me. More vibrant, a bit.

I'm still working on a couple more German units for the German set, which will be heavily mixed. I got started on a Spanish Maceman unit, this set will be a little mixed too, and I will make a few original Medieval units as well as the Ancient Iberian set I made earlier for them. This will be one of the units that appears in the Maceman group, its a reskin of a unit made by Sakhr and some textures from Danrell.

EDIT: And one of my personal favorites, a Spanish Pikeman.

I made a Spanish Knight. This will either be the Knight Officer (or Lord, or whatever, the center/lead unit) or it will be one of the regular Knights. I havent' decided on that part yet. I also want to give him the vanilla Knight horse and reskin it to have Spanish coat of arms (or those of Aragon).

Here is another Spanish unit preview. I was thinking of using this as the Maceman officer, and then combining it with two of the other macemen, but I think once the set is complete it will look better with ONLY these macemen. Its kind of hard to tell from my NifSkope view, but what do you think? I reskinned Bakuel's Italian Maceman (and the shield obviously), replaced the head with the head from the Greco Roman Crossbowman that comes with BtS, and then added the Lanschnekt (I probably butchered that word) collar. What do you guys think?

Is teh download in the OP down?

Yeah, unfortunately I have been having a lot of trouble keeping files up at FileFront. And since 3.19 has come out I haven't really had much of a reason to re-upload it. I am currently working on a new, upgraded, version of it though. Which is what all of these screenshots are for...

Including this one!!! It is a Spanish Crossbowman. I changed the head, and texture of Bakuel's Italian crossbowman (I think, it was actually a Hungarian one, but I think he made this originally as an Italian crossbowman.

Understand. :)

All I wanted was to take some leaderheads and music and stuff off your mod so I can use it for my (personal) mod, as it saves me the trouble of playing around and getting stuck creating my own xml files and whatnot :)

TheCapo: You should use scene viewer for all your fine tune work and preview shots. For one thing it displays it exactly how it it will appear in game. Meaning everything will be in the right spot and not tilted out of alignment. It makes adjustments way easier when dealing with models that come with severed heads and what not. Plus it shows shaders and/or gloss so that you know how your skin will look as well. Scene viewer sucks at most things, but has its uses.

You can still get your units to not be tilted out of whack in nifskope, but sometimes it takes some doing. Especially when your using parts from other pre-edited units. A unit will appear like it is in your screenshots when it's skin instance does not have the main scene root as its skeleton root. Switch that over and you will see the unit zip into the correct postiton. It will sometimes not work because many units have been edited before and reboned and edited yet again. But if you are using a fresh unit as the base, you should not have any problems.

Edit: Just seen your shot of the crossbowman, looks good except for being able to see two types of helmets. Shrunken heads also will appear the correct size in scene viewer.

I am not really trying to get into unit-making, I just wanted the units to look a certain way in my mod, and give some new material with it that people haven't seen. I still have a lot of leaderheads to make, so I don't want to get too wrapped up in the unit-making aspect. You are probably right though, and I might check it out. But so far I've been relatively successful with what I intend on doing.

Like which? Curious :D Always like seeing new quality leaderheads being made. :)

Also on a related note, I'm trying to get new leaderheads in the game, they show up in the Civipedia, if you search through the leaderheads section, but are blank. No picture or words or anything. I'm guessing i'm missing a file or something right? ;)

Also, i'mm having a seperate problem that you might've encountered before?

I start the game with over 8000+ settlers as one of my new civs... link here

Oh I understand that. Just giving you some advice that may help make your work easier. Like with your Celt Iberian set (which I have already cleaned up and put in LoR). The few issues that there were, would have been easily caught by you before ever releasing just by viewing them in scene viewer at least once.

Now get back to working on those LH's:whipped::p

Jeez, there are a lot... Cethswayo (Zulu), Lalibela (Ethiopia), Askia (Mali/Songhai), Ptolemy Soter (Egypt), Cartimandua (Celts), Nasser (Arabia), Clovis (Franks), Mursilis (Hittites), Abbas (Persia), Ben-Gurion (Israel). Not to mention I still have to do a couple of requests (that won't be in the new mod) and I am going to upgrade a few LHs I have already made. The ones that I am putting in the mod (basically the ones on the list) will be made during the course of making my mod.

There should be a how to add an LH tutorial in my thread. You need to write in a Civilopedia entry, and you should also make sure all of the XML is correct and everything is covered. I haven't had any trouble putting in LHs before, so I don't know where to help you. But you should post that in my LH thread, there's a link in my sig. This thread is about the mod.

I've never seen this either. Sorry.

Could you at least do me a favor and post them in the Celt Iberian thread so I can see them/release them. I'll give you credit obviously.

Now get back to working on those LH's:whipped::p

As soon as I'm finished with the flavored units and citystyles I am going to add the new civs (Israel, Sioux, Iroquois, Polynesians and Franks) I am going to make those LHs I just mentioned.

Yah no problem, I never put in new LH's and the guide provided by Wolfshanze is kinda vague. Don't want to spam up your thread. :)

I'm sure Ekmek would be excited about Ben-Gurion 2.0.

Capo, did you solve the problem with the ships you had? I saw these Roman ships and I really want them in my game, but if you say they don't work...

No, I have not solved the problem. I amnot sure there is a problem other than the python pop-up. Basically I get some python error pop-ups when the ships is activated, but for whatever reason I can't close the windows (or there are basically an infinite amount of them), so I can't continue. I could always turn them off and see how the unit behaves, which I guess is going to be my solution. I don't want to do that though because I don't want any python errors going on "behind the scenes" in the finished mod. I've pretty much hit a snag here, and this is really costing me a lot of time because I don't want to progress with problems. I have already done so with the failure to exit to main menu... NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD AT ALL.

The problem is only with the Roman ships, right? Maybe it is possible to create new ships using the art files from these ships that don't work?

I don't know why I decided on this, but I made some diplotext for O'Higgins of Chile.

I don't really know I'd go about that, and I don't really have time to do so either. Unfortunately the only advice I've got so far was someone (incorrectly) insisting that I had the file name incorrect. That wasn't the case so I guess for there has been no progress.
