[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

1. I don't care
2. I don't care
3. I don't care
In other words- you have complete freedom to do whatever you think is right! I will accept any helmet you make.
Maybe it is because of my total indifference to military history.

It shouldn't take long to do this, I'll try to have it finished in the next couple of days. Once I finish flavoring Spain and showing a preview (since I made most of the units) I'll work on his helmet.

EDIT: Damn, I bumped off my last post. Read it guys, I need some ideas...

EDIT 2: @ Igor, is it necessary that there are wings on the helmet or can I get a little creative with that part?

I was definitely going to keep Meiji. I was thinking of removing Hirohito, but I think with the preponderance of WWII-era leaders this mod will have (and the very big possibility of one or two WWII scenarios in the Deluxe version) it would be foolish to do so. Which leaves Jimmu and Jingu. Currently I am not sure what to do. I'd like to use Jingu in order to raise the amount of female leaders in the mod, but I think Jimmu would make a better LH for them than Jingu. On the same token I think the Jingu LH looks slightly better, partially because of the animations and partially due to the background (plus Ekmek taught me everything I know about LH making, so I like to pay homage to him when I can). I think Jimmu would look a lot better with Jingu's BG though, and a slight reskin on his attire. So I haven't made up my mind yet.

I also noticed there was a nice Yu LH out there now. China already has four leaders, and I don't intend on changing them (Mao, Taizong, Qin, and Cixi) but I am kind of thinking of turning Yu into a Korean leader or potentially a Mongolian leader. What do you guys think of either one of those ideas?

A new Korean leader could be good. If you could link to the Yu leaderhead I could suggest some leaders it could be used for.

Edit: Just saw it. With a different hat (I'd suggest Taizong's) and recolored robes, he'd make a great Sejong.

There's already a Sejong out there. Any other ideas? I could always throw some stuff on him and make him into a Mongol.

1. The helmet- what do you mean by "creative"? What do you want to add instead of wings?
2. The Japanese LHs- my opinion.
If you want historical importance- Meiji, Hirohito and Jimmu.
If you want the graphically best LHs- Hirohito, Jimmu and Jingu. If Ekmek doesn't make a new Meiji soon this should be your choice, if he does- Jingu is once again out.
I think you have to keep Hirohito because he was the leader of Japan for many years through WWII and after it- when Japan became an economical superpower. Plus the LH is great! I consider it one of the best custom LHs.
3. The third Korean leader- MO said he will do a third Korean leader (I don't remember the name, but it is the "founder" of Korea)- you should follow his thread and check it out when it's done.

Meiji, I would say is more important than Hirohito. He is practically the father of modern Japan. However, you need Hirohito for a WWII scenario.

Maybe Methyl's LH could be used for Korea's other "Great" leader, Gwanggaeto.

I'll have a couple versions of Gallic helmets for Vercingetorix to wear and you can decide which one you like best. I can't really explain what I envisioned and do it justice so you'll just have to wait a couple of days or so.

I I think its between Jingu and Jimmu for Japan. I am going to try to retexture Jimmu and give him a new BG and then I'll post the results for both of them so we can see which one looks better. Although of course I'll have the final say on the matter.

And I wasn't aware MO was making a Korean leader, so I'll see what that one looks like when it is finished. Man, I'm almost running out of slots for new leaders at this point!

Well, a thought. If you were to remove the facial hair, recolor his hair grey, and give him a military suit (or just a suit in general) instead, he'd make a good Kaysone Phomvihane, which could be a final Khmer leader.

He's Lao, not Khmer. They're a different ethnic group.

That Leaderpack is looking more and more feasible every time.

He is, but I figure Laos is unlikely to get as a serperate nation, and Laos -was- at one point under the Khmer Empire.

Anyway, I haven't started on that Vercingetorix helmet yet, I've been pretty busy, but that should be ending in a week and I should have a lot more time on my hands for a few weeks (I'll start on the helmet before that, don't worry) but due to the release of achilleszero's awesome Xebecs I have revamped the middle-eastern sailing ships set. I have posted an attachment and these ships will appear as the ships of Mali, Ottomans, Arabians, Persians (although I may change this), Indians, and Ethiopians.

If you are wondering why I mentioned that thing about the Persians is because there is going to be a Mediterranean set as well that will be used by Carthage, Egypt, Babylon, Sumeria, Persia (maybe) and Byzantium (maybe). If you are wondering about Greece and Rome they already have flavored sets for themselves. These are just going to be teamcolored sets since there are no specific sets for the other civs. Anyway here is the attachment...

Here are a few more previews. I flavored the Celtic Navy and changed the Archer from only Bakuel's archer to a mix of Bakuel's archer with two of the female Celtic archers, which I think winds up looking better in-game (seeing it amongst the other units and cities makes it look better than this screen shot).

I also plugged in the Xebecs that achilleszero made and the one I reskinned along with the EE2 Algerian Carrack to act as the middle-eastern flavored ships. I listed in my last post which civs will use these ships, but that could change depending on what happens. Anyway I hope you guys like this latest stuff...

I think one of the ship sets you used was originally made for the Berbers. You remember when they attacked American ships.

Yes it was a Xebec skinned to look like a barbary Corsair (or Berber Corsair, depending on your vernacular), it isn't SPECIFIC to the Berbers though, its just a Xebec. So achilleszero reskinned it to be teamcolored and I am going to use it for some of the middle-eastern civs in my mod.

I am looking into adding a little piracy to this mod. Creating a second barbarian civ that acts as pirates, and in that civ one of the UUs will probably be a Berber/Barbary Pirate, so hopefully I can get that to work out. The sets looks good though right?

EDIT: Oh yeah, to reply more specifically to your comment the ship that you speak of is the one marked "Frigate," the other one was made by achilleszero and I have no idea where the ship I have marked as "Ship of the Line" comes from, but I think it makes for a good middle-eastern ship set.

I have a question, though. Will you keeping the palm as the Arabic symbol, or will you change to the shahada or the camel?

I have a question, though. Will you keeping the palm as the Arabic symbol, or will you change to the shahada or the camel?

I haven't decided on that just yet, so for now I'm using the old symbol from my original mod. There are a bunch of flags I haven't finalized just, I'll do all of that when I am done flavoring everything.

EDIT: I'll MOST LIKELY use the Shahada though.

By the way, there's a mod that allows multiple derivative civs. The creator even tells you how to tweak the code so that they pop up randomly (AKA, For England, America doesn't always come before Canada). I think it would be a good addition.

I'll put that in the deluxe edition for sure, I don't think there are enough added civs in the regular/first version to warrant such a modcomp, but that is certainly one of the modcomps I had planned for the deluxe version.

Looking at CFKane's current LH in the works, suppose there's a chance of a Tibetan civ?

I already have a flag picked out for them.
