[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

Most likely yes there will be a Tibetan civ. But right now I'm trying to get this mod finished first, and any Tibetan civ would be created AFTER the deluxe edition of the mod, so it would be modular/not part of the deluxe edition of the mod.

I'm in the process of putting together India's flavored set which is quite difficult since there are no full sets out there, so its a compilation effort on my part which is sort of fun actually.

I think this set will be pretty awesome, so I think I'll post a preview of it so you guys can see what I put together. I will probably wind up using your flag for India Madman, although I haven't put it in yet and it probably won't be in for the preview but I'll add it. Originally I thought it was too much of a religious symbol to replace India's flag (which has an element of India's actual flag on it) but then I realized that there were numerous religious symbols in the game already (the Celtic cross, Aztec symbol, Arabia, England technically, and so on and so forth) and I think your flag looks really cool so it will be in at some point. Anyway, that's next...

Don't forget the Byzantine chi ro.

Heck, India's Firaxis flag is itself a religious symbol, the Wheel of Chakra.

But I'm thinking, wouldn't it be weird for Akbar, a Muslim, to have a flag with Shiva the Destroyer in it?

Actually, I added two flags, the Shiva Statue and the Taj Mahal.

I didn't forget that, I just didn't feel like listing them all. Which is why I wrote "and so on and so forth."

Yeah I know, but its on their actual flag, which was my point. But I'll still be using Shiva.

Not really, it represents the civ. Besides that the Indians will be using the same ships as the Arabs, which have a crescent flag on them, so they'll have some Muslim influence there. And the SAM Infantry I made for them is rocking a traditionally Sikh Orange/Blue turban. I am trying to cover the diversity that is India, but in general traditional Indian culture is Hindu. Not to mention an argument can be made that Akbar was not actually an Indian per se.

Just gotta finish up the Paratrooper for India, then get a good Fighter skin (the one I have sucks, I don't like it) and I'll show you the set I made, I like it a lot.

Actually, I added two flags, the Shiva Statue and the Taj Mahal.

Yeah, but I think I'm going to keep the Shiva flag, I like it better.

Here's an idea for you, Capo. I think it would be easy to make a great Artist. Put another unit's head on the Great Artist - one with a turban on its head. It would look a lot like those Tunak Tunak Tun guys.

How's that for Sikh presence.

I'm actually flavoring Great People and Settlers AFTER the base units are finished. I know Madman will love to hear this, there WILL BE flavored Great People in my mod. :goodjob:

EDIT: Like this guy?

Exactly. It's the robe. The modern artist's Elvis robe could be reskinned to like like one of those Sikh robes.

I'm pretty sure I can pull this off. Lemme take a look at the files. I also need to make an Indian GG. My friend Hardeep is a Sikh so I'll run all my Sikh material by him first.

EDIT: After looking into it, it will require more work than that. I'll get to it when I get around to the Great People aspect of the mod.

Speaking of great people. After I checked the city list (I know, I still owe you some lists and I'll do them for you) I decided to go through the great people lists. I added many new names and also removed all the made-up great spies. If you are interested in my great people lists I can share them too.

That's cool, it would also be good if you could remove any GP that will appear as leaders in the mod too. But knowing how scatter-brained I am work on it and wait until I ask to post it, because i'll probably lose track of it.

I also removed all the GPs who are LHs in my game. I think it matches the list you need. I already finished working on it. Just don't forget to ask me to post it.
I really hope you didn't lose the city lists I sent you earlier...

I have them saved on my computer, I don't know the exact location but I can find them.

I also wanted to mention that I'll be adding Pencilgod's Agammemnon to the deluxe edition and the Minoan Module as Minos. So it will have two leaders; Minos and Satur, unfortunately I think they are both mythological characters, but not much is known about the Minoans so it will have to do.

I am working on the Sioux right now (if you've visited the unit request thread you can probably tell) and I was thinking about the modern units. Since I will have the Iroquois as well, I wanted to give them each a different set for the modern era rather than use the same units for both as has been done in most flavored mods. I have two sets I can use, one has british-style helmets the other has red berets. Which one should I use for which? I was thinking of using the helmeted ones for the Sioux and the berets for the Iroquois, do you think that's okay or does it matter?

Hmm... depends on whether you're more likely to find metal. Northeast United States, or the prairies?

I was thinking a different direction here; I was thinking what terrain type would be more likely to use helmets rather than berets. Plains or woodlands. I suppose it doesn't really matter. Initially I was thinking of giving the Iroquois berets and the Sioux the helmets, but I keep changing my mind.

I might give the Sioux helmets because those are already finished (the berets will require a few units I'd have to make myself) and if all goes well I should have the remaining Sioux units done today so I can have it finished either tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: Having said that, I THINK there is more metal in the Iroquios region than in the Sioux region, but I could be mistaken.
