[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

Well, that's kind of a stupid response.

Anyway, that's already pretty much taken care of anyway, I think the current Medieval GG could be used as an Eastern European one, Chuggi made a bunch of western European ones, as well as two "Greco Roman" GGs. So we just have to get them all in order, and I have been putting in GGs for many civs already. In fact there are only a few that have none at this point (Vikings, Indians, Sumerians, Babylonians) that I have flavored who don't have full to nearly-full GGs.

(imagines how hilarious a modern GG with a big Babylonian beard would look)

Speaking of the pope, have you considered turning the Colonization preacher into a Protestant, modern great prophet? (And reskinning it for Asian and African civs)?

I was going to look into it. Not really for Asian and African civs though, although I suppose I could do that.

@ TAdF: what do you mean by Canada and Australia's units?

BTW, there is really no reason I shouldn't be able to do this for any modern GG. Its as easy as throwing some heads around, and I have other bodies I could use too.

I don't know if you guys have been following THIS THREAD but The_J was kind enough to work on a modcomp for this mod which will basically allow me to have "barbarian civilizations" spawn during the game at certain points, or randomly or whatever (at least that is my impression). Initially I only asked for a Pirate Civ (because I wanted expansion overseas to be more difficult) but since he is adding slots (and I can basically add however many I wanted) I was going to think of ideas for using this. Now I already have a Pirate Civ and a "Native Civ" (basically for Terra maps, or terra-esque situations), and then possibly a Hunnic/Mongolian styled civilization to annoy you during the middle ages. I don't want to go overboard on this at all, so let's try not to. But how do you guys think I should streamline these civs?

PLEASE REPLY TO THIS IN THE OTHER THREAD, I WANT TO STAY ON POINT HERE AND RIGHT NOW I AM NOT AT THIS POINT IN THE MOD.

Sorry to write in all caps but I will basically ignore you if you respond to these comments here, I just wanted some of you guys to go to that thread and help me develop this plan. Thank you. :goodjob:

Any ideas as to what I should make a Khmer Rifleman and Cavalry look like? In VD they use the Siamese Rifleman that Bernie and I made (well, Bernie really did most of the work, although I did provide the original model) but I can't really go that route because I am going to have Siam in my mod. So what do you think I should do? I have looked around and I can only find images of Kuala Lumpur Royal Guardsmen (which actually look cool, but they are Malaysian). I'd rather not use the Siamese units, but I suppose I might have to.

You just made me realize I dont have a proper khmer rifleman either (and the stupid DL link is broken for the one in the DB), but I do have a khmer cavalry. I managed to find the rifleman in Diversica. Lots of older creations in there, but some hidden gems though.

Just meant if you're changing any of unit-art for them, as you are with a bunch of other civs.

Australia will probably be getting a slight retooling, as will Canada but it won't be as different as civs like Phoenicia, Nubia, Sweden, Denmark, and others. The ancient/medieval units for Canada will stay for sure, potentially some of the Industrial units but primarily the modern ones. Same for Australia (Although I'll probably be using all of Bernie's units for them).

I have those, I don't like them. I want something a bit later to go with the other Riflemen I will be using. I will probably turn those into a Cuirassier and a Musketman though.

Here are my proposals for Modern Great Artists:

Native America - Singing Indian à la Village People
Mesoamerica, Latin America, and Spain - Latin Pop Singer à la Ricky Martin/Enrique Iglesias
Mexico and Aztecs - Mariachi
East Asia - Just a reskinned, Asian Elvis
Islamic Middle East - ?
Ancient Middle East - ?

I know you're working on India, and Africa's done too. With these we should nicely cover the globe.

How do we do with the Ancient / Medieval ones, though?

What about great Prophets? The Islamic one probably can encompass all eras, but a modern one is needed for Christian nations. The pope went bust, but we can probably use the preacher unit from Colonization, too. (Used and reskinned for Asia, Africa, and Protestant Europe if the pope unit gets off the ground).

I think you should make the Argentine units whiter. Argentines are mostly descended from Europeans, and there wasn't much mixing between the indigenous people.

I think we should wait until I get to it. ;)

BTW, where the hell did Argentina come from? We weren't even remotely talking about it.

The Pope certainly covers a lot of bases, so it is a great idea. And he's kind of right about the preacher, it does only really work for the Renaissance/Industrail era but it shouldn't be too hard to do so I'll take a look at it.

As far as those Khmer Riflemen and Cavalry go, I think I'm just going to make some "Generic SE Asian" Cavalries and see what you guys think. I'll be using these images as inspiration...

Eh, hard to find a lot, but I'll figure it out. I'm also going to change their modern soldiers because they look stupid right now quite frankly. They'll pretty much look like this guy...

So this set will take me a bit longer than normal, but it shouldn't be too bad.

Maybe if you search "Khmer Rouge", you'll get good ideas for modern Khmer units.

The second picture looks like a march of protest by firemen.

I'm using them as inspiration, it doesn't mean they will be carbon-copies. So don't worry, there will be no firefighting Khmer riflemen.

Awww. :(
