[BtS] "Extra"

Version 3.19d full (non-beta) has been released! In fact, it has been for a few days already, I just haven't properly announed it yet :lol:. I would recommend downloading this version and replacing your old one (if you haven't got any running games with Extra that is).

3.19 full fixes yet a few other text bugs, and it readds the couple of Final Frontier promotions (for armored and antigravity units) I added to the 3.19b version but which were strangily gone from 3.19c and 3.19d. Must have been a mistake on my part. Well, they're back now (for those who missed them)!

I also brought the first post of this thread up-to-date. It now also includes all the items from the 'reworked future era' project (you could call it the third add-on pack after lords and nostalgia). They are listed in green.

Have fun with it! And please bring me reports about the balance of the new traits (Agr specifically), since a couple of friends of mine are worried that agricultural AI leaders seem to fare a lot better than non-agricultural leaders.

@riddleofsteel: There should already be flavour units in the game for Poland, Hungary, Judea and some more for a few of the other custom civs :). And about the weird eyes for Henry... Could you elaborate on that? Or, better yet, show a screenshot?

@Blair-: That sounds like a strange bug. Whenever I start a game with a Seafaring leader, it works normally. Has anyone else encountered problems with this?

@honeysword: I've considered the possibility for a world wonder or civic ability or something similar, but haven't found anything appropriate. Having a 3square radius in all cities would be too powerful and game-breaking in my opinion.

@xvshadow: I always used to upload a mirror version on FileFront, but since the file has exceeded 500 MB that is no longer possible. To accodomate your needs, I signed up on Atomic Gamer so that it can from now on be put there.

@Silverfang: My friend had the same problem so I gave him the link to the alternative download on atomic gamer (see above). After he replaced his mod with that version, it worked fine. Try it out :).

It didn't work. Most of the XML Errors say something like:

Allocating zero or less memory in
CvXMLLoadUtility::SetVariableListTagPair
Current XML file is: xml\Units/CIV4UnitInfos.xml

I'm not sure if that's helpful at all. But if you know of any other solutions that would be great. This looks like a fantastic mod and I'd really love to try it. :)
 
I love this mod and EVERYTHING in it up to the final frontier and next war stuff. I find myself playing until i get to the clones and flying ships stuff and i lose interest and start a new game.
Is there any way I can disable the FF and NW content but keep everything else?

I also am now getting the XML errors. But mine never seem to end. I clicked cancel a hundred times and it just keeps poping back up. I had to close it down in program manager.

But to my other question. Is there an easy editor I can download to remove the FF and NW stuff? I'm not at all trying to say anything bad about this mod. I love it, i'm just not into the future stuff.

@Malvi: Under what circumstances does that bug appear?

@Johenric: Hmm, I'm afraid there is no easy way to limit a game to a specific era (since what you want to do, basically, is limit the game to the modern era and exclude the future era). The only thing I can think of is that you open Civ4BuildingInfos, Civ4UnitInfos and Civ4TechInfos in the Extra mod and remove all the content manually..

Has this fix been incorporated into the current download or will I still need it?

I just compared the two files and they are the same. So it would appear this fix is incorporated into the most recent full download.
 
Thanks for the cool mod :) Had a fun time trying this out today.

Few things I noticed:
1) The unit icon for the Cuirassier looks like a mongolian horseman (for Mayans)
2) The description text for some units (mutants, some space ships, and others) is just the description text for the Cyborgs
3) For some reason I was able to upgrade units sometimes for 0 gold... not sure why that was. But I won't complain ;)
4) Unit icon pic for Axeman looks like Warrior (for Vatican)

Just letting you know that the tag for the MAJAPAHIT UU in CIV4CivilizationInfos needs to be changed to:

<Units>
<Unit>
<UnitClassType>UNITCLASS_HEAVY_SWORDSMAN</UnitClassType>
<UnitType>UNIT_MAJAPAHIT_SILAT</UnitType>
</Unit>
</Units>

Otherwise they can't build Light Swordsman or their UU.
