Thanks for you detailed answer. I checked some files for all tags before posting, but i didn't found any missing.
I'll try to enter the missing tags and see if it works.

By the way: My wish for the future of your mod would be a 2nd UU. Don't know if it was already mentioned somewhere in this thread, but would be very nice. Also I'd love to see Aboriginies in your mod someday ;)


Edit: I changed the terraform files now. I've entered all the missing language tags, translated the german ones and using the english lines for the rest. Sadly it still doesn't work. I looked through the files a few times and found some misstakes i made before. I fixed them now but still have no texts ingame.
The extra files are much too long to check each line. I scrolled over it and seems to be allright, but i think there has to be a misstake somewhere.

Does it work for you? Did you try to switch your language?
I also noticed some misstakes (especially in the greetings of some leaders) in the german texts. After i have a working german version, i'll rework some of the quotes and texts. I could share my work with you than if you like.
 
Could you send me your translated terraform files? That would save me the trouble of finding appropriate translations myself :). But yeah, in the version I'm working on at the moment, the text works again in French, German, Italian and Spanish, but you'll have to wait a few days before I release the new version ^^.

Or, if you feel like fixing it yourself, look for missing text strings related to the Magna Carta in ExtraNostalgiaText.xml.

Your Extra Mod has .dll or not ? Do you plan to never include .dll ? Because on Civ Mac we have not the possibility to modify libraries... Still
 
chiyu, do you know anything about the gunship bug?

after some searching i saw it has something to do with the varietasdelectat module, where the eurocopter tiger is defined. i dont have an interface with that unit, making it unable to promote or use any features. even the city it builds gets interface troubles.
that includes its derivates (leopard, french, camo etc)

using ART_DEF_UNIT_MI28N for example works

so in short: something behind ART_DEF_UNIT_EUROCOPTER_TIGER_* = broken

@Lachlan: Nope I don't plan to include any .dll's, since I want to give players the freedom to put in a custom .dll of their liking :).

@Blair-: Yeah, it's Varietas Delectat that makes the gunships go crazy. It'll be fixed in 3.19d.

Hello, about dll, I can understand and no worries since I have very rudimentary skills in merging in what I want in to my dll.

But I really want you to consider merging in BUG because one of its feature really helps with my low vision a lot. But that is up to you.

Traits

I've been planning to bring back the Agricultural, Scientific and Seafaring traits from CivIII for quite some time. When I finally got to it, I found that Tsentom's adaptations of the Agricultural and Seafaring traits to be the most satisfying. For Scientific, I decided to stick with a +10% research bonus.

Dividing the new trait combinations that appeared among the 110 leaders that Extra had (two leaders for each of the 55 combinations). would prove to be quite a difficult task. With 14 traits, there would only be (14x13/2=)91 unique combinations. So I decided to add two additional traits: Diplomatic (focusing on espionage) and Nomadic (focusing on mounted units and pillaging). With 16 traits, there would be (16x15/2=)120 possible combinations, which is perfect. I only needed to add 10 more leaders (more on this below).

I spent hours and hours on discussions with a friend on which trait combinations should go to which leader. I think we did a pretty good job to find a balance between gameplay (ie. each leader having an unique trait) and historical accuracy :). In the process, I tried to alter the "default" leaders as little as possible, with the exception of obvious ones like Seafaring for Elizabeth and Willem van Oranje, Nomadic for Genghis Khan, Agricultural for Mao Zedong, Diplomatic for Stalin, etc.

- Sargon the Great, for the Sumerian Empire

Comments: Pachacuti, Smoke Jaguar and Hiawatha are actually "Nostalgia" additions since they were present in CivIII :). Also, I decided to add Sargon to the Sumerian Empire instead of making a new Akkadian Empire. Thought it would be nice to have them represented.

Comments: Because I needed more suitable leaders for the new Nomadic trait, I added the Goths and the Huns. Additionally, I've noticed a demand for more civs from South-East Asia, so in this update I added three of them. And then I chose the Assyrian Empire for the remaining spot. The sources I used to gather content for these civs were the mods Thomas' War, CivFusion and CivGold.


Buildings

Not much really: I merely added the School of Confucius wonder from Civilization Revolution. Because the original effect (a free random great person) is already covered by the Theory of Evolution in the Extra mod, the School of Confucius now puts a school in all of your cities (quite useful, since you need schools to build universities later on).


Graphics & performance updates

The default Washington leaderhead has been replaced with the one from Colonization in order to distinguish him more from the Karl XII leaderhead. Since several artists have joined forces to deliver us excellent leaderheads for Alexander the Great and Adolf Hitler, I put them in too. Ataturk has been replaced by Ekmek's new version. The Greek leaders Epaminondas and Leonidas have been replaced with nicer leaderheads as well.

Additionally, I have implemented Varietas Delectat 7.5.

Finally, I compiled all the art in the Extra mod to a single .PAK file, significantly reducing the time it takes to load the mod (at least on my comp).


PS: this is still a beta version of version 3.19d, which means that I'm still busy with testing everything properly and that the French, German, Italian and Spanish translations for the new content are not entirely complete yet.
 
I downloaded the new beta a few minutes ago, but when I tried to extract it the Varietas Delectat FPK was corrupt. So I replaced it with another copy from a different mod, but still version 7.5. I tried to load the mod but nothing new pops up for leader choices, etc. Am I the only one this happened to? Thanks for your hard work!
 
I re-downloaded the mod a few days ago and it works fine now. Is it possible to use the Poland and Hungary sub-mods with Extra since they are made to work with Varietas Delectat? The sub-mods just add special ethnic unit art to the mod. Thanks for any info.
 
hello chiyu. this is just awesome :)
however, the seafaring trait does not seem to work properly. those leaders dont start with the tech sailing (as the text states) and sea/river connections outside cultural borders dont get established automatically either (as the sailing tech would).
 
Is it possible to upload this to another site like filefront, fileshack, or atomic gamer? When I download it from your links, it goes very slow.
 
I tried to run your mod but when I did I got a string of XML errors longer than the Canadian-American border. Really, there must have been an error for nearly every entry. Is there a way to fix that?
