BTS Graphics problem

Just got BTS for Mac. Having an issue where the Leader portraits are coming in half-missing, or with only hair or a piece of clothing showing up.

Running 10.5.7 with all updates, Macbook pro 2.4 with 4 GB Ram and 256 GB Video (GeForce 8600M GT).

This has persisted through a wipe and clean install of both vanilla and BTS (Support files, prefs, etc).

Any ideas?

Is anti-aliasing turned on? Does the problem go away if you turn it off? Also, am I correct in assuming from your original post that you do not have Warlords installed?

Damn, you're good. ;)

You hit it all right on the head. Is the only way to get Aliasing to work to install Warlords (Which I do not have... )?

That happens in WL too.

BTW, the Graphic Card of my 24"-iMac is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 130, which seems not to be listed among the supported ones. Nevertheless it works (apart from this leaderhead-bug)

No, not at all. But this was a bug I thought we'd quashed. Evidently not! Sorry about that.
Hey, it's better than squashing one bug and finding that the fix created three more. Personally I HATE it when that happens.

I'm getting the messed up leaderheads too on my iMac w/ 8800 GS. It's not new though -- I've always had it in Vanilla. Turning off AA makes the leaderheads appear correctly. The problem seems to be specific to my graphics card, since I don't get this problem on my 9400m MacBook and haven't gotten it on a variety of PPC Macs either (that's on vanilla, I assume I wouldn't get it on BTS either but I haven't tried it on any other computer yet). It's not surprising that the problem also shows up on the earlier poster's 130 GT, since that's pretty much the same card as the 8800 GS.

I'm also getting another graphical glitch -- this one more annoying. Every time I end my turn, the screen flashes white or with a bunch of multicolored squares for an instant. It never lasts more than a fraction of a second, but having the screen flash brightly at you every 10 seconds is quite aggravating to say the least. I've never had any problems like this in vanilla. Running at 1920x1200 with everything at high except AA, which is off.

EDIT: It also happens when I alt-tab out of the game, though that's obviously less of an issue. I took a brief video of the problem. About 10 seconds in, I end my turn and the glitch occurs. A few seconds later I alt-tab out and the glitch occurs again.

Can people with this problem post what version of OS X they are running, along with what video card they have?

10.5.7 w/ 8800 GS. The issue isn't constant -- it'll happen every turn for awhile, then go away for awhile before coming back.

I only got the game a couple of days ago. It's installed, and I did start to look at what it will take to port the BUFFY mod UI to it, but I've been too busy with other stuff to play any turns.

I have 10.5.7 and an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT. Is that the same card family?

I'll try to play some turns this evening and see if any of the above shows up.

Eight turns, no white flashes so far, but a borked leaderhead (first one met):

I'm getting the eyebrows only leader animation glitch. I get it with my MacBook Pro when using either the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M or 9600M GT with Anti-alias set to 4, but not when it's set to 0.

Ben

Yes, my anti-aliasing was set to 2, for some reason. Changing it to 0 fixed the leaderhead.

I'm at turn 96 now, and I've still not seen any white flashes.

Both problems here. 10.5.7 on a Macbook Pro with 3 GB RAM and a GeForce 8600M GT. The white-flash problem is pretty intermittent here too.
