[BTS] [Mod Pack] Composite XL - 2.0.01

so here is what i´ve seen.

i play BTS 3.03 with Composite Xl 2.0.2.4
play as Elizabeth until 1872AD
i get a CTD after clicking the end turn button...during the AI/computer turns.

i play on fx-mammoth-map for Hemispheres with fx-marathon (1200 turns)

i constructed Mining Inc. in 1870AD
perhaps this causes a CTD.

anyway i have never seen a CTD in all my previous CivIV (vanilla) games.

Mammoth maps are too big. Giant is too big. Huge is probably too big, but I'm not certain about that yet. I'm still hoping. Also, at the moment, anything over the stock 18 civs is siad too cause crash as well.

If you are getting MAF in the popup after it crashes, then it is the map for sure.

I don't know why they mod maps that big. I don't think anyone can play them past the industrial age. The modders get carried away I think sometimes.

I like big maps too. I'm playing on huge with 32 civs right now. But I expect terrible slowdown, and eventually MAF crash sooner or later.

I suggest, if you like big maps, try a huge with 18 or less civs - less than 18 if you want colonies, and if you have 2000 or more RAM, and the right graphics card, and cross your fingers...or just play the standard maps the game was designed for.

1. huge is way to small for my gaming style :)
2. fx-mammoth is quite right.

3. i had 15 civs (3 slots free for possible colonies)

4. what is a MAF? and there is no popup after the CTD....
simple CTD. nothing more.

5. i can play after industrial age very well.
the time between the turns increases but anything else is more or less fine.

athlon64 x2 3600+, 2gb ram ddr-667 @ singlechannel, 7900GS, win2k
everything nonOC
=> a quite slow system.

edit 6: i play huge maps with 15-18 civs ONLY...at least at Vanilla BTS.
i upgraded from 1gb ram to 2gb....this is quite useless! adding no performance at all.

(for MP-sessions with users with smaller computers than mine, i play normal/large maps)
 
MAF = Memory Allocation Failure. You know, that annoying message that pops up on our way back to the desktop? I am not in the habit of reading them as I am quite angry at having invested X amount of time in a game and its all gone to the toilet.

Core 2 Duo, E6600, 4GB ram, ATI X1950 PRO, windows vista. I have bad luck with games larger than "Huge" seems like MAF is inevitable but people still keep making them. Sometimes, even Huge gives me a problem even Rhye's which came with the BtS disc.
 
i found two other minor bugs.
playing as Germany.

A. i can build teutonic knight as well as maceman.....former should replace latter ?

B. i can build Knights as usual,
but i have another build option for 1 (one) Knight as a national unit (palace needed)....pretty unusual...

Looking into the crash's and we are aware of some XML errors that the regiments team is looking into.
 
been gone a while is xl 3.13 compatiable
 
XL is not 3.13 compatable and I think is basically a dead mod given the non-activity and update to 3.13.

I wish it wasn't so, but it appears so. :(

I checked, I do, but because of work in the morning I won't be on again till tomorrow evening, if you haven't found someone with a copy before then, let me know and I'll find out where you want it sent

Ok heres how to send it to me...

1) Go to www.sethjaygoldberg.com
2) in the center page by my picture you will see a box labeled "send me a file"
3) browse to the file and select the rar/zip/7zip whatever of the file
4) Wait while it uploads

Then I can go get it....

Drop.ip is a great way of sending files.
