There is no bug free mod.![]()
Is there a version of this mod that I should be looking for that is bug free? In 2.9 I'am getting constant crashes, it was released not that long ago, I understand there will be bugs.
Especially if you do Not use Revolutions (I can hear konrad now..., but unfortunately for those that Love Rev what I've just said is true).
Seriously, what have you said is really true? Without Rev the RoM and AND versions are more stable?
A bug free version of software. Don't think that will ever come.
Imagine if they built cars like computer programs.... Oh wait. They did. (Sorry Toyota...)
Because of a new bug that appeared. Inquisition was moved into SDK (DLL) and that's why most of the inquisition python files were removed and the remaining options had to be rewritten differently.Why do Choose Religions and Limited Religions now clash with each other? They worked perfectly fine together previously.
As is mentioned there is no such thing as bug free software; even BtS has many known bugs. I'm sure Afforess could rattle off a pretty large list if you want.
Another important note, JosEPh_II is full of sh!t. RevDCM is one of the most stable mods out there, there are absolutely no known bugs that cause crashes in it. In fact, the only known bugs in RevDCM are found in multiplayer, and there is a single known single player bug caused by the interaction of Choose Religions and Limited Religions, these options cannot be played together. Other then that it's as stable as BtS.
@JosePh, I know you don't like the RevDCM components, but everything it can be toggled off, so it's not wrecking your mod, and you can just turn it all off easily, in game even. So stop making up bullsh!t to forward your agenda.
@the OP
RoM is the only modpack of it's kind. It's far more stable then anything equivalent, and there isn't much out there that's like it anyway, so there are no replacements for it if you want something more stable, but also crave the plethora of extra content in it. That said if you would like a mod that has stability as it's core design focus, check out the Legends of Revolution mod. As far as I know it's the most comprehensive mod that can boast anywhere near the levels of stability it has; again though it has no where near the content that RoM has, no mod really does. But I think very few people notice it, and if stability is prime concern for you, check it out.
That is just media spin. I would wager my left nut that the majority of the "unintended acceleration" cases were caused by human error or if they were truly mechanical faults could have been avoided if people just acted calmly and rationally.
On topic. Bugs in software are pretty much unavoidable.
There is a difference between the Pick Religions custom game option, and the old Choose Religion RevDCM option. The Pick Religions game option never worked with limited religions, instead users needed to use the python function instead. Because the Pick Religions game options is hardcoded, I decided to tackle the problem by peeling off the python choose religions function, I thought this had fixed it in testing I did. But I apparently didn't test it correctly, as the Choose Religions game option still bugs out when interacting with Limited ReligionsBecause of a new bug that appeared. Inquisition was moved into SDK (DLL) and that's why most of the inquisition python files were removed and the remaining options had to be rewritten differently.
