I ran into a crash/freeze, and used Sima's Multiplayer Tool to dig around a bit. Playing as any Civ other than UK caused a crash, so it was narrowed down that they are the culprits.

What I think could be happening, is that they have no where ideal to settle and so it freezes. Anyone seen something similar?

MeteorPunch, until now I´m only aware of a crash, when a civ has lost its last city and it has a settler on a boat. The players of the succession games named it the 'houseboat bug'. In my eyes that is the worst bug in C3C and until now no fix was found against it. This bug was fixed in Civ 3 Vanilla (v1.21f) and it seems, that it was reopened in C3C again (as it was the submarine bug, too).

Until now this crash was not noted, if the last settler of a civ that lost its last city was on land.

In the save file of the turn before the crash, in the multiplayer tool set all civs being played by the human player and than you should be able to see, what triggers the crash, especially if there is a civ without any cities, but a settler in a boat.

Edit: While writing this, I had an idea  : In my mods nearly all settlers need support. A civ without any cities is not able to generate gold. If there is not enough gold for a civ, the unit with the greatest distance to the (no longer existing) capital will be eliminated in the interturn.

In the next version of the CCM and the RARR mods I will set all settlers to not needing support or to give each government a support bonus of at least two free units (a ship and a settler).

After some further review, I have watched the Grenadier move, then the Line Infantry which is guarding the Settler, and last the Settler. The crash occurs here, right after the Settler moves, - the ship carrying 2 units never has a chance to move.

I don't see anything wrong with the units themselves, units which have worked fine through countless playing. Also I don't think it has to do with there not being enough space for cities, as France takes a nearby city spot later on (with UK units deleted).

In my game above, United Kingdom has no gold, but also, no support costs. Also, the Settler has no support costs

In my early test games of the CCM mod I sometimes had freezes with pathfinding errors when settlers had different options for movement than escorting land units, per example the escorts have the wheeled flag, but the settler doesn´t have the wheeled flag and in the neighbourhood there is a tile that is not allowed for wheeled units.
