Bug Reporting

Hi

At the risk of being naggy, like sethi pointed out noone has mentioned anything about my post yet so if anyone has and has any info or anything please let me know thank you.

@KaytieKat - Alerum told me in IM that this issue is resolved in VD 5.3. I don't know when the next BAT release will be, however.

Hi

Okies ty for the info :)

would there be anyway to like dl vd 5.3 and then just move whatever it is that is fixed into bat folder to replace whatever it is that is broken?

Kaytie

It is certainly possible to upgrade pieces of BAT. I'm not involved in that project, but I know that it is a collection of various graphics mods. If you are comfortable with the XML file structure of Civ4, it should be doable.

Hi

hmm so that leaves me out then hehe.

Actually what IS VD 5.3? I was thinking of just maybe trying to run bug and then the units graphic mod but I THOUGHT the units were from ethnically diverse units or something like that.

Hi

Okies I figured some things out on my own (yes I CAN do that once in awhile hehe :P)

VD=Varietas Delectal (althought it REALLY should get some better initials but I digress) and I notice in the bat mod assets folder thre is a thingy called Varietas Delectal_v5.0.fpk.

Now I also managed to download Varietas 5.23 and in its folder there is a thing called VarietasDelectal_v5.23.fpk now I KNOW the universe cant be THAT nice to me and ALL I (or anyone who wants to fix the khmer axes) would have to do is just switch those two files.

So does anyone have any idea what else I would need to switch? or where I could go to ask and find out? ANY help would be appreciated ty :)

Kaytie

All of the unit replacement graphics consist of two things: XML and graphic files. The FPK file is like a ZIP archive of all the art files. The XML files are stored in the XML folder and organized in various ways. Each Civilization I think points to a unit art style, typically by ethnic groupings. Beyond that I haven't looked at the files.

You could get more information/help in the Creation and Customization forum and possibly in the VD thread/forum itself.

Has anyone noticed a difference in religious conversion? I am using BAT and Big Blue Marble. At this point in the game, this will be the third time I have tried to spread Judaism to this neighboring city, and it will fail. Every of the nations I've contacted, including myself, have OR. I never had those kind of problems before using BAT.

Neither BUG nor BAT changes the game rules in the SDK where religion spread is handled. You need to curry the favor of the RNG gods. Try attacking some Tanks with a few Spearmen.

Just a quick question,

Dont even know if its a bug or not, in the autolog i noticed that it reports when a religion you have (or founded) is spread to a city of a civ you haven't met yet.

In RR4 in the succesion games.

Other Player Actions:
Christianity has spread: Angkor Thom (Khmer Empire)

we haven't met old Sury yet

I guess that's indeed a bug and comes from vanilla when you automatically saw every city that has your SR or the religion you have the shrine of (not sure, didn't play vanilla long enought).

If you met the civ OFC it's ok to see that.

ok - I will add the appropriate code to the logger to remove that bug. Do you have a save just before the religion spread?

Haven't got a save close to the spread, Rolo's save in post 121 of RR4 is about six turns before if that is any help.

Thanks :goodjob:

thx - got a link to that game?

Actually - what should the rules be?

you get the 'religion spread' message if all of the following are true ...

- can see city
- have met civ
- plot revealed
- plot actively seen

I think that #1 trumps the lot of them - that is, if #1 is true, then #2 thru #4 are all true. But what about a city that you walked pass (say, 5 turns ago) and the plot isn't actively seen at the time the religion spreads - do you see the religion icon in the city bar in that situation?

Found another little bug, dunno if this can be fixed:

You cannot see the city number of vassals in the scoreboard.

I think that's because you can't see how many cities he has yourself as he can't gift you cities anymore.

You cannot see the city number of vassals in the scoreboard.

This only applies to vassals of rivals because you cannot see their list of cities in the trade window.

While you also cannot see the list of cities for your vassals, you can count them on the map so I show it in the scoreboard.

what is the code for showing the city count? And when was it added? Is it in v3.6?
