Bug Reports and Technical Issues

That's unfortunate. [/code]

It was no problem, was going for a conquest victory anyway so was just happy to have the Golden Age. Kind of fell apart when I realised razing penalty decreases every 5 turns, not every turn... and totally screwed me over.

Anyway, ill get on the SVN and check out the new religions soon.

Leoreth, did you do something to the hot keys/shortcuts? Only G (go to) key works! F1 to F12 don't work anymore. Neither does Ctrl W. Nor Ctrl O (options). What is going on? :dunno:

Not intentionally, but something else may have accidentally overridden them, will check.

Hi Leoreth,
congratulations for the work. I've been playing DoC 1.12 for long. After formating my disc though I installed Civ IV and downloaded 1.13 version of DoC but it crashes before starting to load the Mod. Reinstalling Civ didn't help. Is that problem fixable in any way?

Have you updated BtS to 3.19 with the patch you can download here on CFC? If that doesn't help, are you using the Steam version of Civ?

I'm happy that got so easily resolved.

Hey Leoreth. Found a bug. It looks like Great Prophets, at least for me as Egypt, allow you to spread religions forcefully...even when that religion doesn't exist.

It says I "founded Islam" and gives me the regular cinematic for doing so, but doesn't actually give me the holy city.

I have no clue what is going on there. That's the ordinary missionary action, not the new GP action I added recently ... I'll report back later.

I am getting a strange graphical bug where all the water tiles in the game and on the minimap appear black. None of the other terrain is affected. It seems to be related to VD; if I don't install it everything works fine. I reinstalled the mod along with all the modules to see if it might have been a bad install. This got rid of the bug for a night, then the next day all the water tiles were black again. I've been playing the mod (and lurking) for years now and this is the first time that I've run into issues.

Also, I am only able to install VD using the installer. If I try to install using the git or RAR downloads, I get a multitude of XML errors along the lines of xml_error.JPG. It gives an error for the same units each time including the heavy swordsman and most unique units and does this for every civ. After skipping through all those errors, the game either launches then crashes to desktop when I try to start a game, or gives another error and stops responding.

I didn't see any other posts regarding these problems, so I have reason to suspect it may be a local problem on my machine. However, as I mentioned earlier I have been playing problem free for quite some time now and these are the first problems I've run into. The problems only began recently after I decided to use the main release since the git version is incompatible with VD. Prior to that, I used the git version problem free.

Huh, no idea. I will check those XML errors, they might be caused by a recent VD update that is only compatible with the current Git version (in that case the link is inaccurate), although the RAR should be fine.

The water issue looks more like a problem with your memory or graphics card, but it's odd that it only appears in one configuration.

I am sorry, but what is the status on this? There have been many git updates since but all the short cut keys still don't work...

Not that many, especially considering that most of that content comes from external pull requests or branches I had started to work on long before.

This is also affecting me since I updated my git version yesterday. Most of the hotkeys don't work. I didn't figure out which update caused the problem but it's recent.

Welcome to forums! :bounce::high5::band:[party]

Don't worry, things will eventually get fixed, this must be some mundane side effect of the recently made changes. We have seen worse bugs, like city overflow bug or unreproducible crashes...

I just downloaded the RAR version and used it instead of the git or installer versions, and it gave me the same XML errors. I did notice that installing VD manually creates an extra "Units" subfolder in the Modules\Varietas Delectat\XML folder. Could this be a source of issues?

That's one possibility I was thinking of too. I did upgrade my video card and move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 several months back, however I am able to play other mods such as Realism Invictus and FFH with no problems. In any case, I guess playing without VD for now seems like my best alternative.

I don't know if anyone has entered it already, but I encountered two bugs, when I was playing as the Mayans. One gamebreaking and the other one ... weird.
Sadly I didn't think of taking screenshots, but I will, should I encounter them again.

At some point the Mongolians invaded me, when I was moving into Mexico to steal some clay from the Aztecs, which is an event that, to my humble knowledge, cannot be found in the big book of history. :crazyeye:

Also, when I failed my third historical goal, the pop-up message telling me this wouldn't want to go away, effectively ending this playthrough.

Apart from random crashes, for which I cannot pinpoint the reason, that is all for now.

The conquistadors appear for whoever discovers the New World first. If it's the Mongols, that's who you have to fight.

About the popup, do you mean you could not close it, or that it kept reappearing?

Nope but the latter one is more likely to be my fault and thus easier fixed :)
