Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Sorry for the second post, I was afraid I messed up a few things because I started a few games while not playing them in the same order.

The save produces a CtD after ending the turn. England, 1769 AD, 600 AD start and Normal game speed in case it's relevant. Game version 1.13.8, no newer modifications.

Okay, noted.

Attached to this post is my most recent save. It's somewhere in the 1850s, so getting there shouldn't take too long. (And before you say anything after looking at it, yes, I did use the builder to give myself an edge. This wasn't going to be a serious playthrough, I just happened to spot the bug during it. I didn't mess with anything on the map itself though, just spawned a bunch of extra units and added buildings and religions to cities as I built them).
It's the American Dream after all :D Thanks.
It's fixed now.

I can end the turn without crashes. I don't think the difference between the versions matters but you can try to download the release candidate which I opened the save with. Other than that, no idea.

That's odd. I've updated it to the latest version now, but it still gives the error. Same result after fully reinstalling the mod. In case it may help, I delved into the PythonDbg file, in which the following final sentences were produced:

22:39:04 DEBUG: BugEventManager - event religionSpread: (8, 36, <CvPythonExtensions.CyCity object at 0x180DA6C0>)
22:39:04 DEBUG: BugEventManager - event cityAcquired: (44, 36, <CvPythonExtensions.CyCity object at 0x180DA6C0>, 1, 0)
PY:City Acquired Event: Kaifeng
22:39:04 DEBUG: BugEventManager - event cityAcquiredAndKept: (36, <CvPythonExtensions.CyCity object at 0x180DA6C0>)
PY:City Acquired and Kept Event: Kaifeng
22:39:04 DEBUG: BugEventManager - event cultureExpansion: (<CvPythonExtensions.CyCity object at 0x180DA730>, 36)
PY:City Kaifeng's culture has expanded

Maybe it still has something to do with the culture expansion bug from a few days earlier?

Could be. You haven't done anything from that save besides ending the turn right?

When one loads China in 1700 AD scenario it shows [u'Lasa'] and [u'Qiqihar'] windows as if a warning or error which you just get rid of by clicking a button.

By the way both of those cities lack roads, is it intentional? The Qing Dynasty had initially intended to keep far-northern Heilongjiang province as a semi-pastoral area, separate from the wider Chinese agricultural economy, so it did not allow seasonal urban migrants, such as those from Hebei and Shandong who wished to participate in the Qiqihar fur trade, to own acres and transform the land.

Nope, nothing else. The report also gave the same result before and after the reinstall.

I played around doing things some more. And it appears to be a very strange bug. The results were as follows:

Load 1: crash, same report as yesterday.
Load 2: I deleted the independent city of Kaifeng. Everything works fine.
Load 3: I didn't touch the save, everything still works fine. The Thai take the city.
Load 4: I deleted the stack of Thai troops near Kaifeng. Still, everything works fine.
Load 5: I didn't touch the save, crash. Report is attached.

Left over debug output that I forgot to remove, sorry.

I meant to place a road to Qiqihar. Tibet is intentionally less accessible.

Yeah, I tried to somewhat represent that by not placing any improvements there.

Okay, that's weird, I'll give it another look. However if it doesn't crash for me it's hard to identify a reason or verify that a fix has worked :(

True, no worries about that. I'm trying to figure out of I can produce a save with consistent behaviour but failed so far. For example, after the previous change to a 'safe' game, I reloaded and made no changes except adding a spy and now the conquest happens without any problems. And then in the next, no change to the original save, the game crashes. It appears that the crash is related to a conquest under certain circumstances, but I don't know what could make a difference. Also, I don't know if AI plans are carried over in a save.

But at least I figured out a way to make it not crash so I can finish this game. It's a fun one, now I've gained some experience with the new stability system and DoC specific mechanics more and more UHVs get within my reach. I like the variety of challenges.

I tried it five times again and I could watch the Thai conquer Kaifeng every time. The culture expansion algorithm is completely deterministic so if anything is broken there it should affect every game.

:dunno:

The upkeep for civics isn't depicted in the Civilopedia.

Will be fixed.

In one game Babylonia found Jewdaism and then the shrine was transfered to Jerusalem. I don't know if it's a bug or an easter egg.

Cyrus' favourite civic is feudalism, but he will never live long enough to see it.
Why DeGaul's favourite civic is autocracy? He wasn't a dictator.
Frederick and Ataturk favour secularism and a religion. Maybe change their favourite civic? (scholasticism for frederick and representation for Ataturk).
Nicholas II favourite civic should be representation.
Willem van Orange favours republic and his successor William III favours absolutism. Maybe van Orange should favour mercantilism and William III representation.

The shrine or the holy city? Did Babylonia control Jerusalem?

What about the second question? Did Babylonia control Jerusalem?
