Bug Reports and Technical Issues

What is your language setting? And system language?

And your system?

I've just got back into the whole github thing after being terribly out of the loop for the past 6 years, I'm trying to "git clone" into the BTS/mods folder and I keep getting "fatal error: could not create work tree". I've triple-checked my spelling on everything I need to place in the proper fields and keep getting the same error. Any help is appreciated, desperate to finally try this new map.

My brute force method is to have a primary git folder in my documents. To update I pull to primary, delete the DoC folder in the bts/mods location and copy paste over. Works for me.
Are you creating a generic folder in "My documents" that you then git-clone into? I'm just trying to get it rolling, thank you immensely

Yeah, I think that is the cause. Sorry, I am not sure I can help in that case.

Yeah, this is probably an issue with write permissions. Try cloning into a different location and moving it afterwards. Or you can use the zip download instead.

Thank you, and not to be a total luddite but with the zip download, do I extract the entire folder to BTS/Mods? i may have tried that already and it resulted in me being able to start the mod but it was stilll having me set up the match like vanilla BTS. I could see the new civs, new descriptions and startdates but I started a France and an Egypt game, both booting me back to desktop.

Yes, but you need to rename the folder to "RFC Dawn of Civilization" first.

I changed the language to English, but it didn't help

Sorry, but that error still is related to your language settings somehow.

Was able to get it rockin' via Github by making a new folder in Documents, making sure it was named "RFC Dawn of Civilization" and that Github was zapping it to that exact folder in Docs, and then starting it the old fashioned way by starting up BTS and going thru the mod menu. Loving it so far, just had a few runs as the French,is it normal for Paris to rename itself to Sens?

Yes, the city name map is a work in progress and is taking a backseat to balancing and bugfixing right now.
I noticed, that if you edit the names of the cities via Platybuilder they stay corrected.

A feature or a bug? I never owned Athens, and none of my cities ever flipped to Independents. So I am not sure how they were able to gain access to my UU? :dunno:
