Here's another strange one that crashes. Crashes upon trying to move some units.

A little later in the same game - something goofy about the great person birth rate - I suspect altered by Shwedagon Paya.

Cheers! Great job to Leoreth and those who have given any sort of contribution to this next step of the mod!:thanx: I'm currently playing my second run with the Romans (developing ZIP downloaded 30/07/24) and I have a question about religions. May not be a bug at all, but let see:

Playing epic speed. The year is now 504AD and France was just born. Orthodoxy was founded in 128AD in Jerusalem. The most orthodox western civilization is the Celts along with France. Catholicism has not yet been founded. Should there be some point to trigger it? I have some reflection that there was something like "50% of the western world cities must be Ortho"...or was it...:hmm:

Saves are available if needed.

When changing civics to Clergy, Caste system and Merchant Trade and ending turn I get a Python error. Save is attached, just end turn. If I don't change civics - no error occurs.

Catholicism is founded when:

More than half of Orthodox Cities are controlled by non-Orthodox Civs. OR

Someone builds an Orthodox Cathedral.

Player Rome can easily prevent 1) and is the civ best positioned to build an Orthodox cathedral until the later middle ages. It's not rare for Catholicism to be founded quite late when playing Rome.

It you start (no matter if 3000BC of 600AD) witch Prussia or a later civ, Poland never spawns. This empty lands have high influence especially on Germany and Russia as neighbours.
Same for Hittites and Persia (or later). Hittites never spawn and give Greece more space.

Yeah, the Hittites generally do not spawn if you play as a civilization that spawns after them.

With Poland, their spawn is not conditional, the only thing that should stop them from spawning is if there are too many civilizations in the game already and there is no less important civilization whose slot it could take. However, if the player is Prussia or Russia, Poland should have the highest possible importance and that should not happen. I will investigate.

I think it would be a good idea to also do this if the player is Sweden since Poland is one of the civs they'll have to compete with for control of the Baltic Coast.

Yes that is unfortunately also the cause of the crashes. At this point the issue already exists for a long time. I would need to know when they GP rate first became incorrect.

What is the crusade event reward? I think I had this event with Ottomans (whom I had converted to Orthodoxy), and I conquered Jerusalem in like 10 turns afterwards, but I do not think I was rewarded anyhow.

What is the crusade event reward?

I believe Events and Quests have had little change up to now. Here the Crusade Event from BtS 3.13:

Quest9:
Crusade
Prereq: State religion but you do not control the Holy City
Obsolete: None
Active/Weight: 50/1000
Aim:
Declare War on the owner of the Holy City, stay in war until you conquer the Holy City
Result:
1.get 0.5*default number of players for this world size+1 conscript units (4 for standard)
2.build the shrine for your state religion
3.spread your state religion to default number of players for this world size cities (7 for standard)

1700 AD scenario has both Buddhist and Hindu shrines in the wrong city (Azimabad). 600 AD has them correctly in Varanasi.

Is there any reason why downloading the most recent version / ZIP file would lead to errors making the game unplayable? (I have also tried with Git updates),

Looks like some files are missing. Something must have gone wrong when installing the version for you.

I've tried reinstalling everything multiple times :(

A save before you lose contact might help.
