Bug Reports and Technical Issues

I still had a crashes in my Poland RFC game in 873 turn (1579 - 1581 AD). When I change the Netherlands birth date from 1580 AD to 2020 AD, the crashes gone... and I can continue my playing now.

After this, I tried also to change Netherlands birth date to 1585 AD. So then the game crash is coming in 1587 AD.

I assume, something is wrong with a Netherlands script. When they want to born, the game are crashing.
That seems likely, my crash was in 1575AD on normal speed.
That's very helpful, thank you.

Mine also was a couple of turns before the culture check as Japan - I'd guess it was the exact same turn.

CtD after ending this turn.

Also, it appears that the fortified unit related culture from the Himeji castle is not shown in the amount per turn next to the culture slider.
I've found out that the crash occurs because a Viking city exists on the Copenhagen spot with 0 population. You should be able to continue that game if you delete that city with WB before ending your turn.

I'd like to find the root cause for this situation though. Am I right that the Vikings recently collapsed? Do you have a save from before that happened?

Great, I'll try to figure out the reason from there.

Okay, got it. There was an edge case in the code where a city can change hands before a capital has been assigned to the new owner, which leads to a crash when a capital is required in some parts of the code. Fix will go up as soon as I have verified that the other crash report is also related to it.

Deleting Copenhagen indeed helped to prevent the crash. However, when I end the next turn, the game crashes right after the Dutch settle Amsterdam*. Is this related to the fix you mention in the post above?

EDIT: not right after they settle Amsterdam, after they regain the 9 culture tiles to settle Amsterdam but before they actually settle the city.

Just checked omnislip's save with the Netherlands crash and the fix took care of that as well, so I assume so. Not long until the fix will be up.

Edit: the fix is online now.

I'm not sure what you mean by that, see the attached screenshots from your save. The unit culture is reflected both in the breakdown inside the tooltip and factored into the total, both next to the progress bar in the bottom left and next to the culture percentage buttons in the top left. Do you mean something else?

It is indeed present there, but when I add up the amount of culture produced in each city, the culture generated by units appears to be not included in the empire culture calculation in the main screen.

Upon the discovery of Printing Press, the second Korean goal didn't trigger. Earlier in a different game it also didn't say No when China discovered Printing Press. If it's a different thing I can provide that save too if you want.
I know you said the save was from the installer version, but I couldn't open it with the 1.13.0 Git release (which should be equivalent). However I could get it to open with 1.13.3, so I'm going to assume you played it on that state.

I could not reproduce your issues though: when I finish the turn, I discover Printing Press and complete the second goal. When I instead use Python to give Printing Press to China before ending the turn, I get the lost goal notification.

Maybe you can verify the version the save is from again? But judging the compatibility it appears to be 1.13.3 (you can switch between those tagged Git releases using Switch/Checkout and using the "Tag" dropdown). Not sure what went wrong in your game otherwise.

Oh, that is what you mean, I thought it was the city level. Looking into it.

Sorry for the confusion, I meant the git version that was most actual the 29th of February. Not sure which version that was and if it has been fixed since (I saw that some UHVs got some fixes a few days later).

Alright, I'll try the most recent commit from the 29th again to check if it works.

Turns out I implemented the effect at slightly the wrong place, so the extra culture didn't affect the player level at all. Since culture at the player level has no effect on the game that is not an issue besides the interface.

Turns out a bug was introduced since 1.13.3 release that has already been fixed in the meantime. Unfortunately that save also isn't compatible with the most recent version.

If you want to continue the game and win that UHV goal, I suggest updating to the commit labeled "Fix event handler exceptions" from 04/03. You can do so via Switch/Checkout and selecting Commit, then using the "..." button to access the log and select that commit.

Edit: turns out I love starting posts with turns out.

Russia flips Lwów and the entire row Lwów is on. Previously, it flipped cities one row to the east of Lwów. Please revert this, this row is not in Russia's core.

EDIT:
Interesting. When I loaded an autosave, the Russians did not flip this row this time. Weird inconsistency.

He is Mikołaj Kopernik (in polish) or Nicolaus Copernicus (in latin). But in polish, he is Mikołaj Kopernik. Mikołaj. Not Nikołaj, remember - he is Mikołaj. Not and never ever any Nikołaj.

Thanks in advance :)

Sorry, I'm not sure I got it, what is it in Polish?

Spoiler :
Will be fixed.

Not sure if bug or WAD, but the tile just north of the gems on the East African coast (WB coordinates X:71, Y:23) is flagged as part of South Africa for the purposes of religion spread, despite the rest of the land around it being flagged as Ethiopia. (The mountain to the spot's immediate right is also flagged as South African, but this bit is ultimately irrelevant due to lack of settling possibility).
