Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Can you upload the save for the stability thing?

Please keep in mind that I have switched to Byzantium from Rome and it can be switch related bug, just like if you try to demand gpt from anyone in this save -- you cannot! Need to offer them a resource, they offer you money, then you remove resource and ask for this money being gifted instead.

Oh yes then that's the reason. Stability parameters are only stored for the human player so if you switch the old values carry over until the next check. Maybe I'll address this when reworking civ switches but it's fine at the moment.

This isn't exactly a DoC issue, but I figured I would try here. When I click play a scenario the globe cursor spins for a couple seconds and then I get a civ4 has stopped working message. I have tried reinstalling from git, I have tried reinstalling Civ4 (steam copy), I have tried reinstalling from git again after that. Out of curiosity I opened up just straight BtS and tried clicking play a scenario and I got the same issue. This issue has mysterious appeared yesterday, anyone know what might be the cause?

I think our Archers, Crossbows and Longbows suffer from the same problem that was fixed for Grenadiers, Musketiers and Arquebus. It is possible to build both Archers and Crossbows until the Longbows come online. Tht leds to numerous exploits with building Archers and quickly paying to make them 100% stronger.

Also I was not sure were do I publish this picture: here or OMG? How can Pope call a crusade

No idea, maybe you don't have enough memory on your system? What happens when you close some running processes you don't need?

I'm looking into it.

It's possible if they have been excommunicated before. I can look into the save if you want.

How can human player see who was excommunicated in the past? Very interesting for future!

Same issue even with 3 GB of memory free

I don't think it's visible anywhere, except looking into the event log. Maybe I can give them a broken Catholicism symbol in the scoreboard as an indicator at some point.

Did anything else change on your system between the last successful scenario and now? It's suspicious that it affects all mods and the basegame and persists after new installations.

Loaded up a 1700 AD Prussia game to test out the new civics, only to realize something a little sad: The pigs resource 1S of Frankfurt that is present in the 3000BC and 600AD scenarios is absent in 1700AD. Is this intentional? I think it would be better to harmonize the resource distribution across the three scenarios, in order to not "punish" a player for selecting a particular date.

That's not intended.

A +0 diplomacy modifier perhaps, if the scoreboard would become too cluttered otherwise?

The Marble resource 1S of Cairo in the 600 AD and 1700 AD scenarios is moved to Cairo's spot in the 3000 BC scenario. I think it should be moved to match the other scenarios.

This can affect Egypt. Right now the best spot for Thebes is 1N of starting plot. We don't want to settle on Marble. do we?

Speaking about respawns and tiles -- Saint Petersburg tile from 1700 AD Russian scenario is just outside of Russia's core. While the city 1S from 1700 AD St. Petersburg is also called St. Peresburg and IS in Russian core, the other location is also popular with AI and when Russia respawns this city stay Indy. Can we please fix that?

Ottoman start 3000 BC. Looks like Byzantines respawned recently so there is no way to even declare a war to capture that tiny Constantinople. Maybe for the next critical 10 turns!

Thought Vikings were mean, brutal slavers and raiders. Turned out that they were honest, hard-working labourers.

How is this a bug? Most likely those workers trying to connect their Danish capital with some city they captured in Russian core. I like to see that road built as Poland or as Holy Rome.

Archers have a bonus against light cavalry units, but the unique replacements (medjays and Asharittu bowmen) don't. Is this intended?
No, not intended.
