2 x Athenae . There was only Byzantium and Athenea.

Please upload a save where this happens.

Side remark: this time your Rome does not look very impressive :mischief::undecide: What happened to it?

AI Arabia consistently collapses during the 12th century due to overexpansion, is this intended?

That's not ahistorical.

The Caliphate had been losing actual power from the 10th century. It's not that the Seljuks destroyed it, they just filled the power vacuum of the fractured Arab dynasties.

The Chinese dynamic names seem bugged a bit. Playing as China, after "Song Empire", around the time I advance to the Renaissance (but sometimes before actually reaching the Renaissance), the dynamic name switches back to "Zhou Empire". Then it stays as Zhou Empire or sometimes switches to Middle Kingdom of China (despite having ~12 cities) rather than ever transitioning to Empire of the Great Ming or similar appropriate names. My best guess is that the Ming and Qing dynamic names can't appear until China collapses or is conquered by the Mongols and then respawns, but it seems like for the human player those names should be available without collapse or conquest.

If you have a save for this it would help a lot.

CTD on turn 386. Playing on a 20 jan github version including VD and city styles.

Removed VD and city styles, still crashing.

Turkey and Egypt just spawned so might be related? It does play through the turn somewhat as I get an event message on HRE.

Somehow can't build the shrine in the holy city. Worked without trouble in the same game when I got the holy city in another place; reloaded and got it in Korinthos and somehow the option is greyed out.

Update; just dl-ed the alsted Github version, still crashing. Played back from the earliest available autosave, still crashing on the same turn after a HRE event message...

Anyone with any ideas? I checked the logfiles but understand too little of it. Are there any posts with leads on how to approach the logfiles?

The log files are usually useless, especially for crashes which are by nature unexpected behaviour. I will look into it as soon as I can.

This happens when the Holy City has a lot of Wonders and its culture level does not allow another one. Wait until the city reaches a new level and you will be able to build it.

Oh, right. Shrines should probably be exempted from the limit.

The most recent update should prevent the crash in your save. In case you want to know, the cause of the crash was ultimately the fact that the Moors had only one city but no capital, although the city had a palace. I added some code that checks for a capital at the beginning of each turn and finds a new one in case there isn't one for some reason. but I don't know what caused there not to be a capital in the first place.

I did do some WB experimenting with the Moors respawn so I probably caused that myself then. Apologies.

Having taken the city in the Cordoba Plot from the Phoenicians as west Romans, I refused the flip and observed most of the Moors army spawning in Africa and not Spain. Ended up with a Moorish Egypt and a Roman presence in Southern Spain well beyond its historical date. Tried different things in WB to see how the spawn would go.

I must have ended up playing with a wrong save where I messed around with the palaces to see how Moor behaviour is affected. I do remember the Moors getting their capital in Marrakech instead of the Cordoba plot on their spwn and thought that was weird. I must have left the palace in Marrakech while adding it to Cordoba with WB. Then when Cordoba was conquered by the Spanish, the existing palace messed up to transfer of the capital status?
