Bug Reports and Technical Issues

This message appears when I refuse to sell a slave or when I cancel a trade of a slave unit to any civilization.

Followup to a previous bug report. I've attached a save where I world builder'd the Turks to be dead. If you end the turn they will trigger a flip and come back to life. This isn't intended, right?

Argentine Great Generals are able to build the Military Academy National Wonder instead of the Armoury building as they are supposed to. Probably an oversight when the Armoury building was introduced, a quick correction in CIV4UnitInfos.xml should do the trick.

On a sidenote, this gives me an idea for a potential Unique Power if there's a civ it fits for: Great People are able to instantly construct the appropriate National Wonder in addition to their regular effects.

On another sidenote, I really should look into Pull Requests again, if I keep finding simple bugs like this it's probably more efficient in the longterm to fix them myself than posting here and making Leoreth do the work.

Do you know anything about DOC's compatibility with wine?

I'm trying to get set up on wine using PlayOnMac. I cloned the repo the mod and put it at /Users/<me>/Library/PlayOnMac/wineprefix/Steam/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword/Beyond the Sword/Mods/RFC Dawn of Civilization

I'm running into 3 (possibly related) problems. First, when I look at scenarios, the DOC scenarios don't show up. However, I can find it under Advanced > Load a Mod > RFC Dawn of Civilization. Then, if I try to click the 600 AD Scenario, I get the message "fail to read worldbuilder file mods\rfc dawn of civilization\privatemaps\rfc 600 ad.civbeyondswordwbsave". When I click the 3000 BC and the 1700AD scenario this doesn't happen. Finally, when I try to actually load into the game it crashed with the log "Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code".

A quick google search is telling me that this last problem is not uncommon but I'm struggling to find how to fix it. I might try to go for a less abstracted installation of wine than PlayOnMac. I know you're not a wine dev, but I was wondering if you happened to have any insights into installations of wine that have worked with DOC

Why not use the pre-made wine wrapper for civ 4? Also, the 600 AD issue is because of that end-of-line error, where the file is in the wrong format. Open it in some text-editting program (I use TextWrangler for this, it's free) and change them from Unix to Windows (from LF to CRLF). In TextWrangler, you can do that just by saving it as. You'll see the selection right there.

I have never tried DoC on Wine but I guess I could on my Linux system. It's probably for the best if you try the suggestions of people who have already had experiences with it though.

I would love if we could come up with a step by step guide to get DoC running on Linux and MacOS so that I can put it on the landing page.

Not a bug per se, but an oddity: Srinagar (northernmost tile of Indian subcontinent) is included in the Turkish Core Area. I would probably put a core exception on that tile.

Previous turn might help depending on the issue. Is this latest develop?

If it helps, during the crashing turn, I would be getting a Great Person in Los Angeles. Worldbuilding the GP progress down so that the Great Person does not spawn causes the game to no longer crash for me.

That's really useful, thanks.

Tell me how to accept zoroastrianizm, playing for Babylon
First, wrong thread.
Second, if you can't make zoroastrianizm your state religion, you have either never experimented with F7, or you have no zoroastrianian city, in which case you need to wait for it to spread. I don't think it's possible to tech to it first, but I never tried.

all cities with Zoroastrianism, f7 has all religions except Zoroastrianism.

[/ QUOTE]

There should be a scroll bar below the religions. Scroll to the right.
