I thought it was possible? Do you need a special tech to do it? When I try to put a mine in a place with a forest it says it will chop it.

Is there a way to build roads with out doing each tile individually?

Anyone having issues with trade routes not showing up in the city screen.

This is for a new dawn.

1) not chopping forests was a RoM feature that was removed in AND (:sarcasm: so people could complain about the AI removing all the forest again.)

2) no - you can build a "route to" but the worker(s) do each in turn.

2. Yeah thats fine if THEY do each tile individually. What I was talking about was, the only way I could figure out how to build a road was to move to a square and then pick the type of road I want. The worker would build it. Then I would move to the next square and do the same thing again and again until I reached my destination.

The "route to" button will build the most advanced type of "road" that you can build from one tile to where ever the end tile is that you select. eg between two cities. It is the standard BtS function.

Could you direct me to what file(s) require editing to return the feature to how it is in RoM?

It is in the Assets\XML\Units folder CIV4BuildInfos.XML. The tag you are looking for is the <bRemove> tag. A value of 1 means remove zero (0) means leave the forest or jungle. Don't forget to make a back up and you may want to compare one from RoM.

Awesome, thanks.

I had been poking all over in the Terrain folder, hadn't thought to look in Units.
