Byzantine castles

Is anyone here knowledgable in regards to how byzantine castles looked?

There is one in my city, but the only central structure is a bit hard to model, and it has been altered through the aeons.

I am looking for a castle, not just walls and turrets

It is the only thing remaining to be modelled for my new Byzantine set...
