Bz3 - Always War Crusade

ok.

So ND is up following the normal roster. I have updated the first post to reflect this.

I can't play until tomorrow evening. ND, if you can play before then, go ahead. Otherwise I'll post an 'I got it' sometime late tomorrow.

I am almost done with my turns. Unfortunately, life has gotten in the way several times during these turns. I thought I would try to give an example of how to fight defensively. Here is a turn where I am defending Tatung.

The Mongols have just showed up on our doorstep with 3 Medieval Infantry(2 of them vets), 1 Swordsman, and 1 archer. Some would look at this stack and see 3 units with an attack strength of 4, 1 unit with an attack strength of 3, and 1 unit with an attack strength of 2. However, this is how I look at the stack of units. I see 4 units with a measely defense of 2 and 1 unit with a defense of 1.

Bz3_430AD_Tatung_m1.jpg

You will also notice above some Longbowmen to the west, some more Medieval Infantry to the NE and some archers near Xinjian. All of these units are one movement units and atleast two squares from any city. None of them are threats this turn and attacking them with horses is a major :nono: The horses would be left exposed in the open and easily defeated in counterattacks.

Here are our heroic defenders.

Bz3_430AD_Tatung.jpg

Notice the eight catapults. I saw the stack of attackers last turn and moved the catapults to this city. After firing our catapults, this is the result. All of the units with a defense of 2 have been reduced to 2 hps.

Bz3_430AD_Tatung_m2.jpg

We have an army and 3 horsemen, but 5 evil Mongols to exterminate. Luckily there is a horse in Paoting and I move him to Tatung to make the first attack. This way he stays in Tatung after defeating the MI. The army is used to make the second attack. This way it also stays in the city after winning its battle. If either of these units made the last attack, they would not be able to retreat into Tatung and would be left exposed. The three horses in Tatung take out the last three Mongols. The last horse retreats back into Tatung after killing the archer.

Sorry this took so long.

I think the settler should found new Macao where he is standing. It will allow us to get the game within its radius. Several civs are building Sistine's which means they have theology. :eek:
I played an extra turn to get us back to an even year.

According to the roster, I come next. However, you switched turns with ND. So ND should be up.

I will reflect that in the first post.

1)Shanghai horseman->horseman
*Note Nanking needs aqueduct
Nanking Horseman->Horseman
Tsingtao Sword->Horseman
Chengdu Horse->Horse
Paoting Catapult->Spear
Chinan Walls->Spear
Found Ningp starts spear
Horse at new hangchow redlines and defeats archer.

2)MI attacks China bombarded and redlined spear defeats it.
Canton Library->Spear
Shatung Catapult->Spear
1 Swordsman and 2 horseman defeat 2 MI at Chinan
Paoting Horseman redlines longbowman then dies.

3)Get Currency w/ +19 gold
Enter Middle Ages! Start on fuedalism at 20% w/ +5 gold a turn.
Beijing Horse->Horse
Tsingtao Horse->Horse
Situation at Paoting looks hopeless =(.
Xingjian Horse->Horse
Tienstin sword-sword
Use horse on mountain to attack 4 longbow stack. defeats 1 w/ no hp lose.
Use army to atatck the stack/ Defeats 1 longbowmen. Use sword to attack stack agian defeats it w/o a lost hp.
Use horse to attack stack. left stack destroyed. pulls horseman from tatung to attack long spear defeats it w/ 2hp left. bombard last longbow down to 3 hp. bombard spear by xinjian loses 1 hp and then i attack w/ elite horse. defeats it, loses 1 hp. 8 longbow left in line of sight heading for the city.

4)Taoting defeats attacking longbow, w/o losing 1 hp.
Nanking Horse->Horse
Tatung Worker->Spear
Anyang Catapult->Spear
Kaifeng Spear->Spear
New Hangchow Sword->Sword
Civs working Leo's.
Attack lone Pike at Xinjian w/ horse, defeat it w/ no hp loss.
Laughs at himself for thinking situation was hopeless. We have 9 attackers and 1 sword army. and at most 5 attackers a turn.
Lmao! accedently chose spear and it defeats 1 longbow, loses 1 hp.
Elite horse redlines and defeats 1 longbow in stack. Use sword army to attack stack. Defeats it loses no hp. Use 1 horse to finish the stack, loses 1 hp. Vet sword redlines longbow, dies. Vet horse defeats it, no hp lost. Horse from Hangchow comes and defeats yellowed longbow. 1 hp lost. 2 longbow left!.
Meanwhile in Chinan 3 bombardings later and 1 horse and sword later the MI threat is over. I see 2 keshiks coming in the distance.

5)Lose 1 spear defending a swordman, kills 1 longbow before dieing and redlines another.
Tsingtao Horse->Horse
Chengdu Horse->Horse
Use sword army to take out last korean longbow. Use vet spear and vet horse to screen it from MI.

6)Damit the sword army fell along w/ 1 sword and 1 spear. agaisnt 2 keshiks and 1 longbow.
Beijing Horse->Horse
Shanghai Horse->Horse
Canton Spear->Horse
Paoting Spear->Spear
Defeat lone Spear by New Hangchow.

7)Damn now we got keshiks and samurais up our ass.
Shatung Spear->Spear
Use a elite horse to take out a lone longbow 2 tiles from paoting, i know i shoulda waited =/.Use elite horse at Chinan to attack keshik stack. Defeat 1 but redline. damit. 1 horseman left have to pray sword defeats last keshik or have to move spear off iron to defend city. Yes!
keshik defeated, sword w/ 2 hp left.Use horse to attack lone spear, dies but redlines the spear. The city of Chinan rests on a roll of the dice.

8)Damn those Japs! a samurai comes in and defeats our last horse and takes 3 catapults damit!. They burned Chinan to the ground as well.
Anyang Spear->Horse
New HangChow Sword->Spear.
Well our iron source is up agianst 3 catapults and 2 samurai.
Ok the keshik on the mountain is at 2 def w/ 1 hp left. its defense and attack are the same on the mountain as it is attacking the city. therefore we shall play this situation defensivly. Use horse to attack Mongol MI and makes it lose 1 hp then retreats. Lose another horse attacking it. Use an elite horse on a MI and kills it but elite red lines. Use another elite on that stack. No Mi left. Use a vet horse on an archer. Loses 2 hp but defeats the archer.

9)Damit the japs went after Hangchow and took it instead of going for the iron. they captured instead of destroying it btw. Damit the koreans have knights now!
Beijing Horse->Horse
Tsingtao->Horse
Chengdu Horse->Horse
Attack Lone keshik in red w/ vet horse, defeats it w/ no loss. Get iron back online w/ a colony. I send 2 swords and 1 horse to try to reclaim hangchow.

10)An elite spear loses 3 hp and defeats a knight. Stack on the mountain attacks Paoting and all die to lone spearman, loses 3 hp.
Nanking Horse->Horse
Kaifeng Spear->Horse.
Vet Horse defeats a lone spearman, loses 2 hp.

Good luck to the next person, ull need it!

There is one last rabbit though. Snap, has already suggested that in the AW Deity game. ;)

I'll play and post a save late tonight.

The save link is not working.

Edit: It shows the file size as 0K in the uploads folder. :confused:

You should probably try to re-upload it.
