Bz3 - Always War Crusade

@ND: Please reload the save. Also you should name it BZ3_something.sav. I am sure there is a whole bunch of Mao_of_chinese... in the uploads folder ;)
 
Why did this slow down? I guess I am at fault. With my AWD game my attention was diverted.

Anyway, I am sending a PM to ND. I think has had forgotten about this thread completely. :)

Next a compendium of my turns (I only played 9)

(a) I generated two leaders. The first has rushed the HE. This is the second one. The team can decided what to do with him.

(b) I have started some temples. Our income is so low that we cannot even research in 40 turn pace. Also we cannot hold that lux level. Hence lux had to be reduced and entertainers engaged.

(c) We have enough cats and horses to hold back all forces.

(d) Arabia has finished Leonardo's

(e) Otto has finished Copernicus

(f) There is a settler prceeding in our left plank. We have to kill him otherwise he will settle and cut off our iron.

(g) The AI has killed a total of 3 spears, 2 swords and 1 horse in the last 9 turns, losing at least the number of forces visible around the leader every turn. A more than satisfactory kill ratio. Mongol Keshiks are falling like trees. Sams are being a little problematic though.

IMHO, we are so desperate that we need to use leaders to rush infrastructure. A marketplace in the capital is really needed.

IMHO, we are so desperate that we need to use leaders to rush infrastructure. A marketplace in the capital is really needed.

HE stands for Heroic Epic.

I do not think attacking Korea is going to accomplish anything. Kore is now defending with Pikes and very soon with Muskets. We cannot make a dent on them with horses.
 
Turn 0 – Pre turn. Ok here we go. Start out with some MM. First of all, Beijing is at +7 food but is size 12??? Guys!! I MM it a bit and get 4 extra shields. We need to mine the mountain ASAP. Everything else looks ok, besides being terrible. Rush market in Beijing. Kill off a few knights and the Keshik around Paoting. Kill the Korean settler.

BT – Our horse takes out a Sam, on defense! :lol: Two sams attack Tatung, no losses. Lost one horse, one sword, one spear in all this turn. Market complete in Beijing. All the other civs start Bachs, meaning they are past education.

Turn 650 AD – Generate another leader, General Tso. Will rush Colosseum in Beijing. We need it. One of our horses spies at least 5 more Sams coming our way.

BT – Bad RNG luck in Tatung – lose elite spear. Can’t reinforce iron colony. Lose spear in Paoting.

Turn 2 – 660 AD – Kill a bunch of units. We aren’t really in danger of losing anything but the pressure is constant enough that we can’t progress either. I’m going to “try” to get a city on the iron again.

BT – Suddenly 2 english longbows and two celtic MI appear in the East coast. Great…

Turn 3 – 670 – I am able to kill both MI with horses available over there, but couldn’t attck the longbows. I had no warning, and no forces available over there. Produce another leader, K’uang-yin. Rush market in Tsingtao.

BT – Lose a spear to those English longbows. 4 sams appear. No losses this round. Tsingtao completes market. We are now at +10gpt instead of –2 when I started. AI is up to Navigation as someone has started Magellan. We are still 4 turns from Feudalism. Haven’t seen any muskets yet – hopefully the AI is still a ways from Military Tradition. I think, once we get MI’s, we might be able to make some gains.

Turn 4 – 680 AD – Nothing threatening Paoting this turn! I’ll try and get some more units into Tatung… Well, there are 5 Keshiks ready to pounce next turn, so maybe not. Produce another leader! Sun Tsu. Rush market in Xinjian.

BT – 4 Samsi and 2 knights take out one spear at tatung. Those Keshiks takeout a sword and a horse at Paoting.

Turn 5 – 690 AD – Not much. Kill a few units. Move some more cats towards Tatung. Built a settler in Beijing that can hopefully be used to settle the iron. I’m stopping here as those 5 turns took me almost 2 hours to play! Sorry. My turns were pretty uneventful as AW goes - lost some units, killed many more. I guess the best thing was the 4 leaders and resulting improvements.

I think it is evident that the AI is extremely bad at playing AW. Which makes AW possible for the human. Just imagine if it was us with Sams and AI defending with spears. :D

I would say play as many as you like, I am sure no one will mind. As it is I played only 9 and Snap played 5; so we are 6 turns behind.

6 Turns of Hope
T1: Grr... I saw a Korean Leader retreat. More swords come up. Arabia has dropped off 2 Ansars in our teritory. I'm able to dislodge a few units in our teritory.
T2: Gah! This ALWAYS happens on my turns. The 2 Ansars I mentioned take Chendgu. A colaition of Samurai, Korean Knights and Kheisk Hordes take Tatung. Its defenders just... fell... This isnt good...
T3: Feudalism is researched. I start work on Mono for hopes of ever reaching Chivalry. A round of Pikes are ordered. Chengdu is retaken.
T4: Err... That settler AND its three escorts are killed. Shakespeares and Bachs are built this turn.
T5: Kill some units, some units die
T6: England is launching Longbows from Brighton. New Hangchow is burned to the ground by Khiesk and Samurai.

Hope...

edit: My major :smoke:. Chendgu is undefended. It should be safe, though. There are no units anywhere near it.

I loaded the save and pressed spacebar. We immediately lost Chengdu and another city. There are three knights there.

Earp has a hard job.

@SAAM: Don't worry abut :smoke:. But you do need a lot of practice with ancient age warfare. :) I am sure you are like I was sometime time back (never attack unless you have modern armor) :D
 
I will play tonight. Although I feel like the little blue guy in the middle, the Chinese will not go down without a fight.
