C2C- Resources Discussion and Ideas

@Dancing Hoskuld

I have been thinking about this as well. I would like to try to avoid numerical buildings. So I think following the standard upgrade pathing that other groups have used would be useful such as ...

Bead Maker's Hut (Bead Making) -> Bead Maker's Workshop (Guilds) -> Bead Factory (Assembly Line)

Beads of course would not go obsolete but at Currency tech it would say reduce the gold by 1.

And if you think about it beads are still used today.

I will try to get this made soon. Believe it or not it was on my todo list but I guess got buried. It was suppose to be done when I redid the baskets. In short thanks for reminding me of this.

Misses the point. I don't mind what you call them. The point is that while beads are big in the past most are not so much now so you want an upgrade that produces less which people wont build.

I understand however I disagree that beads would be worth less as you progress. For instance modern beads can be made of plastic and be all sorts of colors that ancient beads could not be. Likewise beads can be made on a much larger scale than in the past. Thus each bead may be worth less than in the past but it still profitable to make beads.

In fact here is an example of overpriced beads being sold on TV.

Ok, so I don't need a 16x16 Icon to be shown up in the city screen?

I made the icon for nutella first. Is this the way you want it?

Edit:
I just saw I saved in DXT1 not DXT3. Beside that, is it the way you want it?

@SO: Than someone has to give me a short guide how to make them :goodjob:

As far as i know it exactly the same way, just changing the size is all. Except no borders or anything like that.

No boarders like the frame for buttons? And what about the alpha channel?

If I save them as pgn, how do I converte them to tga?

OK now thats a different story for putting them INTO the tga, that is alot different. There is a tut on it, but i still cant do it, its all about pink squares and stuff. DH knows how to but not me, sorry.

Usually it has a transparent background, only one layer (no alpha channel) and no border. I can convert (export) pgn to tga (I think) in gimp.

@FM & SO

Well it has an extra step too you have to add it to the Game Font files. There is some special program that allows you to add to the file. When I added something and then DH would add something later mine would get deleted. So I would just give DH the files and he would add them. So yeah if you want to add new tiny icons send them to DH and he can add them to the Game Font file. That way they "stick".
