C2C SVN Changelog

Sorry but it isn't fixing the long file name issues nor the long load up times. There were 30 files that I had to skip when trying to update the Mod with SVN files due to the long ass file names someone used. :(

Before the game loads to begin a game, it is taking over 22 mins to load.

I have a decent PC with i5 Quad running at 4.5 ghz, 8gb of ram and 470 gtx vid card, I have never ever waited this long for a game to load... Good luck with it, I am starting a new game to test more of the SVN update, so far it really needs some work.

If I knew how to fix these things I would jump in. lol

There is something strange going on there. What are the messages? We did have this problem a long time ago but fixed it.

Adding a very simple Launcher for Caveman2Cosmos.
For some upcoming changes it necessary is to include the Assets directory in the PATH Environment Variable.
This Launcher does that and then starts the Game.
The Launcher requires the Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile.

The Launcher tries to get the Bts directory from the registry.
If that fails it looks for the Civ4BeyondSword.exe in paths specified in the C2CLauncher.xml
If that also fails you have to add the path of your Beyond the Sword directory to the BtsSearchPaths in the C2CLauncher.xml.

Please use it and report if it is working because without this working i cannot commit the new Xml Parser.
 
I just updated to SVN version 6609, there are at least 20 files that name was to long had to skip them, the CvAltRoot.py file is invalid (see screenshot), I waited a full 15 mins for the load screen to come up.

I experienced no problem that you described with rev.6609; and had no problems updating my svn, which suggest something is strange on your end, perhaps try the svn "clean up" function and then update again.
Additionally, my game launch in 30 seconds and I have disabled all cashing which leads to longer launch time, this shouldn't be an issue. Your hardware is obviously not a bottleneck in your system, for faster load times my only suggestion is to upgrade to SSD if not already done.

Your posts and this one should have been located in the bug thread btw, the SVN thread is reserved for modders anouncing changes made to the svn repository.

Yeah i get certain inepticies every now and then, best thing to do is just delete your playing copy of Assets, and replace them with a new SVN Assets and i bet everything works out.

Are you the filesnames are the problem and not the path itself? I've seen people having problems if the SVN/Civ4 are buried deep in the folder structure because Windows in general only allows 255 character long pathnames (XP/Win7 don't know about W8).

The Launcher now detects the mod directory instead of always assuming "Caveman2Cosmos".

Adding Xerces_c SVN Revision 1539311 to the sources dir.
This is needed to build the dll with the new Xml Parser and because big commits sometimes don't work i commit this requirement separate.

I didn't bury SVN directory, it resides on a backup drive. Path itself I doubt is the issue.

Sorry I was frustrated and posted part of it here, since I can't delete I posted in bug thread. I am running Win 8.1 Pro btw I run 2 SSD's under RAID 0 configuration that was why I was alarmed and couldn't figure out the issue.
 
I have trouble too, authentication error.
 
They probably had maintenance but it works fine for me.

changed: OK these should be ALOT better now, should work.
EraInfo, and GameSpeedInfos changed.


6624 fixed Euro TownWatchman, had wrong artdefines line.

6625 change some of the 2-1 Leaf(CvCityLsystem), just seeing if this fixes the error message is all

6626 Added "Ned" Kelly (Australians Bush-ranger) to the Outlaws (Mid-West) area.

The Launcher now shows a Error when there is no assets subdirectory.
The Launcher uses the name of the directory there it is executed for the Mod Command-line option.
This works if you have Caveman2Cosmos in a directory like "MODS\Caveman2Cosmos" or "MODS\C2C".
If you have Caveman2Cosmos in a subdirectory like "MODS\Caveman2Cosmos\trunk" you have to set the ModDir in that case "Caveman2Cosmos\trunk" in the C2CLauncher.xml.
If you set the wrong directory Civ4 shows a Error like "Mods\Caveman2Cosmos \ is an invalid mod directory, ignoreing".
