C2C SVN Changelog

Just a small question: I have done a small folder comparison between v35 und the current svn head version and am surprised to see that the current svn version contains much less contents under the assets folder, specifically sub folders named after persons here in the forum. Is that just dead code clean-up or is there something missing in my svn checkout?

the svn installation instructions are good - thx - it is all working for me

when updating in game from v35 to current head I noticed some unit class issues (Tapir and rhino) apparently some animals were removed?
Anyway the game keeps working, I think just the instances of those animals are gone

Yeah, not an error but something to be thankful for. Used to be that the game couldn't cope with changes like this and almost all updates would make an in-progress savegame incompatible. This message means that a change that removed a game object type entirely has been successfully adapted to but it can be potentially jarring in some cases since instances of those objects completely vanish all of a sudden.

Both tapir and rhino have gone from one to four. Mostly so the Asian version(s) can spawn in Asia while the others can spawn in Africa for the rhinos and South America for the tapirs.

8355

- Remove individual Animal Tamer buildings for the new Complex. Each animal now requires the complex and some other buildings. Eventually all will require the Myth of the animal.

- Finish the Hippopotamus Myths and Story buildings.

8357
-Fixes units that were not updated to the new healing system so that they can now update properly and heal as the next turn is run. This may also repair # turns to heal estimations - though it can appear incorrectly on the first turn loaded as the units won't update until the end of turn and the update may change the proper estimation.

Depends on the situation. I noticed that the city rate of 20 was being added to the base of neutral or friendly territory which was adding to an amount that was waaaay higher than I felt was necessary, particularly since cities have buildings that can enhance that rate. So it's still faster in cities but I did rank down the city bonus significantly to help bring some meaning back to building modifiers and healer support even if in a city. And some units heal slower than others depending on options and promos and such.

Yeah the time required to heal changed from about 5 to 15 turns in a city for a unit which was captured (so it is very low in health at the start)

So is a owned city in anarchy a worse spot for healing than enemy territory?

No... it should still be considered an owned and thus friendly plot so it would be the same as being in friendly wilderness at worst - still I think it's 5 higher than that as well and the only modifier not existing that otherwise would if not in anarchy would be those coming from the buildings that are currently not working.

Wait...

Ok, I just reviewed the code more closely and realized I was wrong... the friendly vs neutral healing bonuses were from the unit, not the additional base value of being in those sorts of territories that were being added to the city base heal rate. So... aka... I was wrong on this one. I've reverted this with: 8358
