C2C SVN Changelog

9785

Numerous fixes to the space material, mostly with buildings and units being assigned the wrong map categories. Some highlights:
- Extraterrestrial national and great wonders cost 2X and 4X the normal building cost respectively, as opposed to 4X and 8X on Earth.
- Many buildings were renamed to make it more clear what domains they belong on.
- Changed prereqs for Superconductors, Quadruple Helix, Transdimensional Commerce, and Controlled Inflation so they don't skip the era gateway techs.

9788

  • Hurry Inflation Decay rate adjusted for faster decay New Dawn Global defines

9789

  • Inflation rate changes to Civics category Economy

  • Applied the golden age ability to Great Generals and Great Admirals.
  • Added some decay rules to culture that doesn't have influence from its owner any more.
  • Disabled ambushes from hidden defenders in cities (but not forts).
I also cleared out what I thought was a lot of pre v38 tasks that have apparently been mostly or completely taken care of already (or got lost and were too minor to chase down.)

This means that I have a few days of xml work ahead and my goals for v38 are clear. Unless we get some more serious bug reports, I'm happy enough with where we are for this to potentially be the last DLL update before v38.

I'll be doing some playtesting with my wife to see how we are. In a sense, we're in a freeze now, with one major exception of something I'm hoping we'll be including in this release, mentioned below. And these last few xml matters on my highest priority list need to get done too.

Soo... Merry Christmas anyhow, even if the present is a little delayed.

@Toffer90 @Dancing Hoskuld @strategyonly Are you guys gonna be able to authorize the new UI for v38 or what?

Maybe we can do this by New Years...

updated more the vanilla civ translations (german) to the grammatically better translations by the german Civ IV community (more natural language).
The main work was put in the Events and Global texts, some minor changes were also made to some other text files.

Is the SVN locked down for the Freeze?

  • Clean up Builds for Ancient, Classical, and Middle workboats. None of these should be building Jumplanes, Sea Tunnels, Sea Forts, Sea Air defense, or Multiple Kelp farms. Nor Break Ice.

9797
  • Lion Myth can now be built in any city.

  • Ming Vases etc now only show as Great Wonders rather than as being also National Wonders and normal buildings. They are part of the Trade Wonder set with a bit of cross over to Cultures also.

  • Minor text fix in promotions.

9798
  • Repairs a bit of bad xml from the german translations. (The German text code was nested into the French one. Just a typo.)
  • Corrects a code processing bug in an alert system in the hurry function.
  • A major repair to an AI function that was intended to keep many units from being selectable to fulfill certain AI roles due to being units that spread negative property values.
  • Units that engage in a trade mission return to the city they were trained in, rather than the capital.
  • Fixes a problem with capturing helpless enemy units in cities.
  • Probable correction to Infiltration AI over-training bug.

Playtesting is needed to ensure that the AI converts it's previously bad crime-causing unit selections to a more aggressive role and gets them out of their cities and starts making better choices from there.

This is really the most likely cause of the complete crime collapses we've seen many nations undergo later in the game.

9799 & 9800

  • Wonder Recosting (we took the multipliers on base costs down by x2 for wonders of all types)

Wonders were proving a little TOO rough.

9801

  • Rebalances trade mission xml settings a bit
  • Adds unique differentiations (special abilities) between various trade type cultural units

For more information, refer to this chart: C2C - Unit Trade Ability Values

  • Fixes a hang bug in the AI.
9804
  • Units loaded on ships no longer get destroyed when the tunnel underneath gets razed. For that matter, neither do units that hover over the water.
  • Corrects the order of events for Criminal trade missions so that they actually work.
  • Keeps loaded units from being able to load the units they are loaded onto (and thus cutting off a bigger problem of disappearing units when this happens.)
9805
  • A confirmed fix of the processing involved in a couple of Criminal missions, Infiltration and Trade.
