Yes, Kaiser and Defender of the Crown I played a lot. A full game of Kaiser on the Atari 1040 took about 12 hours. I usually won the game in our group of students as I outlived them (gameplay wise :lol: ). You needed to finish your turns quickly to live long. Overcoming all opponents and becoming the Emperor during a lifetime was nearly impossible as some of us were simply too good in the game. When the game finished with the coronation it usually was time for breakfast...

My absolute favourite on the C64 was 7 Cities of Gold. Anyone remembering this? This was a clear civ-forerunner. You equipped your boats in Spain and then left towards the west to conquer and colonize the New World. You could use a real world map but also create a random one. If you were successful you returned to Spain with a lot of gold and could equip an even larger expeditition. There were hidden treasures as well as friendly and hostile tribes. You could settle inside friendly villages (if you were lucky) and even make a self-sustaining colony out of them (if you did really well). There was no clear end to the game but it didn´t make a lot of fun anymore when the 7 hidden cities and all of the gold were found. Really bad was that you could only save your game when your expedition had returned to Spain and this could easily mean only every 5 hours or so. I was a teenager then and there were heavy discussions with my parents why I could not share meals or family activities at a certain time.

Yep was the predecessor of pirates, sid meier played it and made pirates i bet. :lol::thumbsup:

Beachhead ruled. :)


Then Emipre and Empire Deluxe come out, we played that hours. I think then i had my first 386 PC.

Diseases, crime, pollution, education, tourism pseudobuildings are just "normal" buildings, that are autobuilt.
This means their % maluses are mixed with % bonuses from normal buildings.
Also all sorts of % bonuses/maluses are added to each other, and then total % bonus modifies base productivity.
-1% from property pseudobuilding is perfectly countered with 1% from anything else.

It appears to me that Pit2015 is indicating that the modifier seems to be saying "xxx for Melee" which makes no sense. How does having Melee units affect production?

Maybe he has building, that speedups melee unit production?

If a melee unit is in production then it can adjust the overall production with a modifier from a building (<unitclassproductionmodifiers> I'm guessing). It might be a mislabel perhaps but primarily I'm thinking we first need to look at the text it's calling because the bullet code on that text reference is bad.

I AM curious which building is specifying a production modifier on melee... off the top of my head I'm not recalling which one(s) can.
 
Normaly it is * + 15% but here it is + *15% text or code bug. Same problem when i build a coyote runner in another city, then the problem occurs 2 times, so its maybe no building maybe its meso religion or a world wonder... bullet and + is missplaced.

Our AIT was 47 weeks, we were part of the USASA. Met her in early December and we got married ST. Patrick's Day.
Holy hell that's a long AIT! What is the USASA exactly? Strategic Air?
 
There is a problem/bug watch the "+" red marked. Also can you display there the new -% hammers from the diseases?
So I just did a search for all references to 'for Melee' and I have not been able to find it in the code, in any text reference (that would fit this one), in python, in anywhere within the firaxis folder period. I can't fix something I can't find. At some point I'll probably run across what I should be looking for.

Actually, I get it. It's a reference to 'for' that I'm looking for and one that then immediately leads into a unitcombat and a unittype reference, which will be nearly impossible to find by searching the text key references for that. I'll have to look in the code for the segment that controls that display and go off what it calls for.

I fixed this. The correction will be on the next SVN commit.

I always felt, in retrospect, that I would've enjoyed Intelligence much more than personnel accounting. When you got out, did it help to shape the direction of your career in the civilian world?

It could have. We had an opportunity to start at a GS 5 level back in '76. But we decided we did not want to live in the Wash. DC or Annapolis MD areas. I had a job waiting at Chrysler back in Missouri and it was home for me and close enough to her family in IL. So we went back home and started raising a family. Too much country in both of us. ;)

Bug or Problem? Promotion Animal Hunter removed? Why is it available on the first unit to upgrade but not on the second? Also coyote runner has missing the promotion animal hunter, no option there.

Screenshot 4 this unit has it, later build unit in mowhawk dont have it, screenshot 5... maybe meso religion problem? Units build when you are at meso religion dont get it? Or maybe era problem, will you get that only in prehistoric era?

PROMOTION_HUNTER1 is the prerequisite. The first unit has that promotion. The second and others that cannot take it, do not.
 
Vikings civ still doining nothing... i found this barbarian unit there, i will remove it and test if he starts to expand then, maybe this only unit is holding him down, but is unlikely, he still has a tribe in his city not moving out founding a new city.

Just guessing but it looks like he determined there were no great spots to settle by land so is building navy to get him to where he wants to go. If it wasn't close to release, I'd take a look. Report this again later perhaps.
 
I removed him all babarians and criminals, and he hast 2 good spots for a new city discovered, maybe trait problem, maybe give him the traits of the zulu civ they expand good. No tribe movement for 2 turns now after my removal of criminals. I also removed his criminals in his city.

EDIT: Also the vikings dont send hunters out, they dont go to hunt at all.
