C2C - Units

IF you’re referring to me yeah sure!

I script pretty well on other games so C2C should be ok and I can get a whole list of aircraft for most nations that fit into most these categories. It’s just models that may be an issue as I can’t model to save my life. But just a model that can fit into each cat will do at first and nation specific craft can follow.

I would mix in some navy improvemnets too.

Some of the most fearsome empires in the world have been Aircraft/Navy based. A good Airforce, Navy should be difficult to craft but worth it.

Would it be worth waiting untill all the combat upgrades improvementa have been implemented? Im impressed with whats been done so far so would love to combine it.

Also I can go into the future with 6th and 7th gen fighters and bombers as if you look hard enough some plans have already been released for them. Again models may need to be made but I can go fishing for concept drawings ect That way you can get some good future era units.

I think we should just "try some of this out" first just to see how it goes starting with the units and techs we have in the game already before expanding it more. That way I can show you what can be done first before you race ahead. Perhaps you could start a thread called "Aircraft review" or similar with a list of suggested changes to the current units. I'll then reply with how to do those things and we see how it goes from there. I have an appointment in about half an hour followed by organising some blood tests and stuff which will take up the rest of this morning probably.

Ok I will compose something and we can put a plan together.

I get an error message: hotlinks to that 'resource' are not allowed...

I've been searching their downloads section for about half an hour and have got nowhere even close, so I'm afraid I've given up.

EDIT: Never mind think I found it.

OK...Anasazi and Blackfoot units here (I'm slack I know - I think my work ethic went walkabout - but anyhoo better late than never...)

Meanwhile, in other unit-related musings/cogitations:
- why is there no horse-assisted worker unit?

- I found a unit in the pedia called a Spanish Galleon. It's exactly the same as a normal Galleon except it doesn't upgrade to a Paddle Steamer, only to a Transport. I thought it must have maybe a culture prereq that the pedia didn't know about. But all I found when I checked the XML was that it is the same unitclass as the Galleon, which I think means you can only ever build one or the other. And I can build the Galleon, and I can't build this one, so does that mean no-one ever can?

There is a small Xml error in Anasazi_CIV4GameText.xml "The string "--" is not permitted within comments."

Has there even been discussion about a poacher unit?

Stealth unit that can only attack anaimals

Can I make a special request about the Italian unique unit?

Actually it's the Elmeti, but I can tell you that as an Italian I never heard of them. In my opinion, a better unit representing Italy should be the Alpini http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpini
They're infantry specialized in battles on the mountains, which became famous during World War I. So in terms of gameplay they should be a replacement of trench infantry (because they fought in World War I) with free promotion like Guerrilla I-II

You mean the ones from the renaissance era? The point is that at that time Italy didn't exist as a state, they started to form it only in the XIX century..

Yea, renaissance era. But ok, mountain infantry suits too.

What I am saying is that since Italy was not a state in the Renaissance era, but it was split in a lot of more-or-less independet states, it's weird that a unit from that time represents Italy...

Also, doing some researches on google I can't find any italian page about elmeti, aside a few forums of age of empires, where this unit is used as some kind of merc I think

The reason they are used is because of Age of Empire 3. They were the Italian UU and this is what it says about them.

Background Information:
The Elmeti were non-noble kinghts of Italy. Their name is derived from the Italian term for helmet, referring to the headgear they wore along with the finely crafted plate armor. The Elmeti fought in a seires of skirmishes between Italy and other European states doring the latter half of the fifteenth century. One key battle occoured in 1487 at Ponte di Crevola, where the Milanese army, led by Trivulzio, defeated Swiss forces in a battle that foreshowded nearly half a century of further European encroaches into Italy - a period now known as the Italian Wars.

Why we dont have one time use rockets (not nuclear) like in civ 2

We have bSuicide tag to make it happen.
We dont have AI for that ???

I clearly remember building a Guided Missile in vanilla BtS, because how else would I know they're not worth building...:mischief:

We do have Guided Missiles (and I'd challenge the assertion that they aren't worth building!) You get a few hundred of those puppies sent down on the enemy and there's not much that can stand up to it.
