It's not limited in the game, you CAN build 6 cities, but in your mind, you should think 'can't build more cities ... no more cities ... no more cities... ;)

CivAssist II is a utility to take tiring micromanagement out of the game, and it does a dandy job of it! It can be found here, along with more info about the utility.

1) The 5 city & 1 city challenges are ways for you improve your game skills and speed up game play. There are a couple of variation of each depending on what your victory goals might be. In some variations, you can only build 5/1 cities, yet others can be acquired, in other variations you can not end a turn above the limit and the toughest is to never have over the limit.

2) The aggression level seems to have an effect on how militaristic the AI is, though I've not used enough variations to be 100% sure.

3) Here is the link to a Ultra Huge Map with all of the tribes - You play as Portugal - Warning this takes a long time to play with 45+ minute interturns as the game gets farther along and you need a PC with a lot of horsepower to play this

The reason for the delay is the map is the maximum allowable by the editor. After about 50-60 turns, you'll no longer be able to found a new city unless the AI loses one because of the 501 city limit. There is another map around (I looked but couldn't find it) That puts all 31 tribes on a tiny map. Nearly everyone can only get a single city on that map, so the warfare starts early and is fatal to most. The expansionists have a big edge and so do the Aztecs & Inca as their first unit built can immediatly capture a neighbor's city, giving them big edge on the other tribes.

Is there a thread or article that discusses the strategy for placing the Forbidden Palace in C3C?

My current thinking is to build the FP as soon as it is offered. Build it close enough to the capital that it can be built reasonably quickly - say in the first or second tier of cities towards the major expansion area. Then I'll have an oval of productive cities (vs a dumbell in C3 or PTW). The palace can be jumped to a better location later.

Can a Great Leader rush a palace or FP?

Yes, any Leader (in Civ III) can rush a Palace or a FP.

As SGL can also rush Great Wonders, maybe their usage for that purpose might not be the best thing to do. But it all depends on the situation, I guess.

so will it be shorter if we used a 180 x 180 map ??
What will be shorter? I don't understand the question.

MGL can rush basic improvements and Small Wonders.
SGL can rush basic improvements, Small Wonders and Great Wonders.
So, if you use a SGL to rush an improvement you waste the capacity to get a Great Wonder in 1 turn!

aha I thought MGL can harry GW as well

the shorter thing : I was talking to denyd about interturns waiting time in the 31CIVs games .... he mentioned that he had it 45+ in the ultrahugemap so I wondered if it's shorter in a 180 x 180 map

ty for the link

I'm playing a huge map game right now and the interturn is about 5 minutes - That ultra-huge map was a special map create by Skyfish for a sucession game. Using the editor, he created the maximum allowed size map.

On smaller maps it's not possible to reach the maximum due to lack of enough tiles to actually settle on. You can't settle on a mountain or adjacent to another city so the total number of land tiles is reduced.

Hello, I have Civ Conquests. I havent played in quite awhile. I was wondering which patches do I need to install. If I need to install multiple patches what order do they need to be installed?

Thanks S

I was playing my first game of civ conquests when this happened

I captured a city and low and behold all my opponents citys were destroyed is this a bug or is there anyway around it

Help needed

Best regards Megs

You must have the victory condition called Elimination on. When you destroy X number of cities from your opponent, all of his cities disappeared. X represents a number 1-10. You can change it via the "Game Limits" button when you start a game on the Player Selection screen. By default, it is 1.

It was mainly designed for quick multiplayer games.

Welcome megs.

My best guess is you had regicide turned on. Once all their kings are killed all the cities disappear.

Did you happen to notice that the last unit you killed had hit points but didn't swing a club or anything? It just stood there?

Whomp is wrong, I am right. ;)

Unless you took their capital city, where the AI always keeps their kings. Check the Player Selection screen to see what victory conditions you had enabled.

I forgot:

Welcome to CFC! [party]
