I do win (a stage after losing at least once) but it takes me longer then I think it should.

I thank you all again.

Confused713 is not the only one who feels that the AI can win lots of battles that they should not. I have read a lot about hit points and such but it seems that their regular people do better than me vets. Maybe it is just in my mind (If any thing is in there) but I do hate to lose a unit to a lesser unit when they start even.

If it weren't for the RNG, combat would be totally predictable and the game nowhere near as fun, if any fun at all.

Does anyone have a list - or can anyone point me to a list - of the unique units in Conquests? Note: NOT the one here... it doesn't have some of the corrections I know there should be to the older units (the Cossack and the Musketeer are two that I think I remember).

This is the new stats for UU's that changed:
Cossack 6.3.3 blitz
Gallic swordsman cost lowered to 40
Musketman 2(2).5.1 bombardement is only defensive free-shot
Man-o-War 4(4).2.4 range is 1, ROF is 2, enslavement ability
War elephant 4.3.2 no resources required, 1 bonus HP
Jaguar warrior cost raised to 15

Ah, thanks. :)

A good move... 50 was quite ridiculous. ;)

20 turns per citizen killed

Just to clarify, rushing for example a building killing off three citizens, it will make three citizens unhappy for 20 turns, not one unhappy for 60 turns.

There is no way to determine how many turns are left. No obvious ones, at least.

I'm pretty sure that the Worker/Settler does not take the unhappiness with them. But, if a city is disbanded/razed while suffering from the unhappiness, it will migrate to a nearby city.

I was playing on a map that I generated in the editor, I set it up in the size of 250-250 with alot of land, now im getting an error that their are "too many cities" is their any way to get around that, or to allow more cities to be build

Unfortunately, no. There is a hardcoded 512 city limit in the game, which you CAN'T go past.

The only way to avoid the message is to play on smaller maps. I hear that 220x220 with 60% ocean (40% land) is pretty good for being just under the limit when all terrain is covered, and that's still a fairly large map. :) The map can be larger than that if there's going to be a lot of water... or, if there's going to be more than 40% land, you'll have to try slightly smaller (maybe 200x200). ;)

I only had a total of around 470, and why if they put a max in did they allow u to edit a map up to 300x300?

Because that's the way it's coded. Not a good answer, I know, but the best we have.

It probably has something to do with the trade algorithms. Having too many cities could create problems. In my game now it's long enough, and there's only about 150 cities total on the map...

Actually, maps can be up to 362x362. However, those maps usually have very little water or use extremely open-spaced city placement. ;)

Thanks for the info, dont quite understand fully but I didnt make the game, i tried to space my citites out even farther, almost going 3-5 squares between each city but the AI continued to build cities close to each other not taking up all the land. On a different note, has their been any discussion about this topic in CIV 4, i read something about them doing away with "expenential city growth", any comments?

(Temporary OT) One thing that I DO know is that the city limit HAS been removed in Civ4. :D
