Also, if you mod the game, bombard units will be able to bombard multiple times. ;)

Just to elaborate on what Beaver's saying, when a unit DOESN'T have blitz, you'll get a message saying "this unit may only attack once" when you try to use its remaining moves on attacking (or when you bombard with that unit then try to attack, the same thing will happen). Blitz takes this limit away - you may continue attacking as many times as you want until the unit runs out of movement points. ;)

Is there a quick way to see what exports I have and for how much?
I know the F2 screen shows exports, but I was after a screen that shows you how long is left without manually going through every civ and selecting the 'active' tab.

Also, on this F2 screen, I have many items on the top line with icons of resources (I forget it's name), but I have had the line under it 'exports' showing more (in this case ivory) thatn the top line says I have - what's wrong?

I think CivAssistII will show you what your trades are and how long you have. I'm starting to get that and CRpSuite confused..... Anyways, check the link out in my sig.

On the F2 diplo screen ... or on the LRH command diplomacy option (which shows all known civilisations) ... Is there any way that a civ's colour is indicated or displayed?

It is very frustrating and sometimes confusing as it is ... there seem to be colured rings framing the LH graphics, however they usually are not the same as the ingame colour ...

You mean the Trade Advisor screen? Not exactly sure what you're talking about here sorry...

Um, a question of my own - does anyone know where I can find a list or table or whatever of the number of each different terrain type that appears on a random map with certain characteristics (eg, 4 billion years, temperate, etc)?

And additionally, just making sure - on a Standard 100x100 map, there ARE 5,000 squares right?

Oops sorry what I'm trying to find out is this ...

There are 2 screen which show other civilizations where you can click and start trading, gifting and threatening ...

Is the civ's colour display anywhere on these screens?

Also ... are mini-map colours from the same pallet?

None of the advisor screens show the color of civs.

Each color has its' own palette and the different color indications (for the same color) might not use the same color # from the palette. There may be slight differences between, say, the border and the city labels. I think the red-orange is particularly noticable.

It's also possible to have 2 civs of the exact same color in C3C.

Does anyone find that if you are a republic and are trying to stay scientific, you can only have about 10 army units no matter what size of civ you have? After that I find the unit costs are just too much.

Also, what is the point in banks, marketplaces etc? I know what they do, but if you zoom to a city, the science row (showing the test-tube bottles) is by default always larger than the monetary row above it. Therefore, I always build libraries, universities as the benifits of having these will always be greater than the benifits of having increased commerce.

If it was a straight choice between building a bank or a university, the university wins all the time. (Joining on from my first point) As I am a republic, I try to keep maintainance to a minimum therefore, I only build either science improvements or commerce ones - the science wins every time. This leaves me with city improvements that I never build.

Can someone advise?
PS. Thanks for all previous replies!

One other point - I am playing C3C latest version and I know that MGLs cannot be used to rush build something. However, one of my cities in enemy continent was under constant attack and eventually I got a MGL. When I selected this leader I could rush a building - is this a bug?

It definately wasn't a SGL as this city was very low of science, as I was starving the population to reduce chances of a culture flip, plus it wasn't my capital. It was the 2nd MGL I had from combat and the other (which I turned into an army) was still alive. I only remember this as I knew in C3C, MGLs shouldn't be able to rush buildings.

MGL's should be able to rush buildings as long as it is not a great wonder. Small wonders and city improvements are still rush-able with MGL's.

10 army units seems pretty light, even for republic. Make sure you have all your worked tiles roaded, and marketplaces/banks to increase income.

The only time I wouldn't build marketplaces/banks would be when the town is too small to have any significant income, and doesn't have much chance of growing bigger. Such as a tundra city....

The city is generating mostly science because you have the science slider on F1 set that way. The game is all about balancing science and income. With marketplaces and banks, you could back off the science a little bit and support a bigger military.

Maybe he has a lot of Workers?

Well, perhaps he was just exaggerating a little then. ;)

I wonder how many units in a stack of warriors can you kill in one turn if you blow up an ICBM right on the square...

There is a 50% chance of a unit being destroyed in a nuclear strike, IIRC.

how sad..
then how about air strike...
how many will be killed then?
