It's maybe because you try to connect when it's busy. Around 19/20 PM people 'get connected'. Maybe you should try connecting earlier?
I've had the same problems, and then the site links you away. At that point you have to log again..and again..
 
Our scouting warrior brings some good (hopefully) news at last. In between the endless amount of mountains he has spotted some huts.
Turn 9 is upon us.
